You know...I would be okay with Chicago. There are fun things to do there late at night for all ages too...Navy Pier would be fun.
Sorry but I wouldn't come. Not unless I hit the lottery or something and had a lot of free time.
None.
I have all the time in the world right now, but no means of getting myself out of the county, much less to Colorado. If you moved this shit up to Seattle I'd be in, but as far as I know, Camo's the only other one who lives around here.

If we moved the meetup to Seattle, I could visit my family. In fact, forget the meetup!
Seriously, why are you all suggesting the event to be a 5-minute drive away from you? You
are aware we're nowhere near each other (sorry for moving, Farty
), so the best option would be to take all of our locations and calculate the point that would create the least amount of total travel for those attending, and then picking a city near that point.
Or we could meetup in Boise. I'm like a 5-minute drive away from there.
I always thought a cross country road trip was the only reasonable way to meet any of you. And by that I mean one or two senners who are financially able, or were going to do it anyways, stops off at somewhere in all our states, where we proceed to meet up with them. Like say Devlin meets up with all of us on a giant road trip, and we all meet each other sort of through Devlin.
Someone should do this! I'll probably be able to meet up if you pass within a 30-minute radius of where I live.

Isn't there a site where we could all mark our locations on a map? Then we could pick a city in the middle.
Win by luck, lose by skill.
The NC people could easily get together, set up a webcam, and share with the people in the NE, and with the people in the west coast, and our texans.
But yeah, I'd love to sit down and drink with devlin. Does BS ever come to Wilmington to film?
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"
D'aww. I have a feeling I'd just be quiet and shy, or I'd make a lot of awkward corny jokes.
BS was cancelled, unfortunately, but when it was on we'd shoot all over the US and sometimes out of the country.

We should make this thing that I'm not coming to super cool, and meet in a shady café in Sicily somewhere. Or like a bar in Berlin (then Nude could come too) and act like we're discussing plans to rob a casino.

Haha. I'd prefer Frankfurt though I think I would manage Berlin too. Berlin would be better for Zycorax though. And maybe Wormer could come too.
Best bet for maximum attendance is to make the meet at an event people would want to, and be able to, go to. Most people aren't going to spend the necessary travel expenses and time investment just to sit at a cafe and talk, or something equally ordinary.
That said, I don't think BlizzCon is a good choice since actually getting the tickets can be incredibly difficult. It should be a conference or other event in which there's a high chance that all interested parties will be able to gain admittance.

If you're going what else could we possibly want?

If I knew how many people were
legitimately interested in going, getting tickets to BlizzCon would be incredibly easy.

They are still expensive though, probably going to be $200 a pop. Not that it wouldn't be worth it, honestly. But after travel expenses (2150 miles at 20 mpg and 3.5 $/g, that's $375 one way on just gas, and I'm from the midwest). Might be able to cut expenses if you rode a bus, but I don't know if I would be comfortable being on a bus that long. Round trips flying around $650 from where I am, making it the most cost and time efficient travel method available. But we're already looking at $850 on just travel and tickets, and food/lodging aren't going to be cheap either, and it wouldn't be the least bit foolish if we had a bit of spending money (naturally).
We're looking at about $15-1600, for me. And while I do live some ways away, other members can relate with even higher expenses. Although people living near NYC may be able to get a better deal on a flight from LGA or JFK.
None.
I was just talking about the ease of acquiring them, not the ticket or travel costs.

Only that first sentence was meant as a reply. I got carried away with the rest.

I don't want to go to blizzcon I think, it sounds really crowded and uncomfortable to me. There are smaller conventions across the country that have cheaper entry tickets...but...travel expenses would probably not change a whole lot. I know you guys want to do a one day hang out thing, but I don't think I'm willing to spend that much on airline tickets to meet up with people for only one day...

I'm sure there are other things that qualify for "2013 Chicago events" as well.
Assuming that Chicago is actually the best place for the most people.
