(I have no idea where this topic should go... Modders can make their own far, far superior things with plugins, it's not really a mapping tool, ... Here seemed like the best bet.)

I've thrown this idea around a bit making several little enabler/togglers that were functional, but not safe (they h4xx3d ur sc's coed, and battle.net knows it!).. Then someone asked me about EUD enabling, so I thought I could make a more public-friendly version... And here it is!

Note that the fix is local only ... Only those with EUDs enabled will see the effects of EUDs. So if you want to play an EUD map with a bunch of friends they all have to have EUDs enabled, too. However, normal death triggers should function perfectly and not cause any errors with other players.

Instructions!
Just run the enabler. It doesn't matter if you're on battle.net or not, in a game or not, or even if SC is even open or not. :D (Simple!)
Battle.net should not be able to detect this as it does not change SC's code at all. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Note that only 1.16.1 is supported ... If you want multi-version support, you're going to have to ask nicely. :P

!! Update !!
I'm releasing qdp and bwl plugins (for MPQDraft and ChaosLauncher, both at request) for this. The EXE is the same, but I rebuilt it anyway.

Changes:
- Fixed typo. (xD)
- Added version info (I didn't notice that it was lacking before. :P)
- Added unpatching support (run it again to unpatch)
- Fixed ASM that caused a crash.
- Public release of QDP and BWL plugins.

(Old versions: 2.0, 2.1 2.1.2)

Report any bugs with the Death action... I completely rebuilt it. ;o

Perfect! I have already started making maps to go with it. Hopefully this becomes popular over battle.net so a lot more people makes EUD maps.

Looking forward to see what games can come out from this.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

1. You wrote "Starcrat" in the error dialog.
2. How can I make this program find Starcraft? (I'm to lazy to start both or write a batch file)
3. Could you make this program execute the Starcraft.exe if there is one in the same directory?

4. Is there a memory map for weapon entry data & general unit data (max HP, used weapons)?

Yeahh... is this toggleable? Like once I run it can I then immediately turn it off? I don't like permanence. I want to know BEFORE I run it. Plx n ty.

1. Oops. xD
2. Make sure that HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blizzard Entertainment\Starcraft contains InstallPath, and that it points to your Starcraft directory. Otherwise, for some reason it can't read the registry value or create the process.
3. I dunno how. :unsure: Even if I did, it'd probably have the same error as #2 (unless the problem is the registry)

4. There is for older versions ... The values should be near these ones. (Someone should really make an updated one. :P)

Eh. I could make it so you can turn it off by running it again (I thought about it when I made it, but was lazy and didn't add it. :P)

Any more suggestions, errors, etc.?


I think I forgot to mention ... I got rid of the checks that prevent writing to players > 8... so Extended Player Deaths work, too. (For those of us who remember not being able to use players 9-12. ;))

For those that wants to have something to test, here are the first 3 maps that I made:

EUD actions 01
EUD actions 02
EUD actions 03

Edit: Sorry for not having said what each one does... When I posted, I was in hurry.

EUD actions 01: You control a marine by ordering a ghost. Perfect for maps where you don't like the selection circle.
EUD actions 02: There is a location that is constantly moved 1 pixel down and 1 pixel right.
EUD actions 03: The armor is constantly added. I tried with the attack but it didn't work even though I knew I had the right EUD.

Yeah describe em. I can't figure out what the tank one is doing!
Edit: Is there any risk in running this program?
Edit2: OMG ONE OF THEM HAS CONSTANTLY UPGRADING ARMOR! When it hits 256 it goes back to 1! It's the perfect damage randomizer! You'd just have to make the increasing values random and you'd have a damage randomizer!!!!

So apparently in certain instances you can start a map before you are done Dling. It goes back to the last map you played. Fucking hillarious! But fix it!
