What is the best final fantasy game?
An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death
The answer is obviously
Mystic Quest for the SNES.
I've actually never been a huge fan of Final Fantasy, mostly due to a lack of exposure: the only ones I've played are Mystic Quest and X.

I played III, VI, and X. While I did like them all I enjoyed the VI one the most. If we are talking about final fantasy style games then by far Legend of the Dragoon would be my favorite of the bunch.

X is my favorite. I'm biased because it was my first FF (and I'm playing the HD remaster now), but it is still my favorite.

Legend of Dragoon is literally the best game ever.

Who would you use in your party? I would always do Albert and Rose, but Meru is pretty fucking badass too.
I actually never played it myself. My cousin had a Playstation, and whenever I went to his house, I'd watch him and play and thought the game was awesome. I was only like 6 or 7 years old, I think, so I really don't remember anything about the story. All I remember is that the main dude loses that thing that lets him turn into a Dragoon or whatever and sucks until you get it back.

You should definitely play it in that case, I can honestly say it is one of my favorite PlayStation games ever.
I've really only played 9. When I tried to play 8 I was going through the tutorial and thought it was too needlessly complex and never touched it again.
I've never bothered to play 7 or 10. I at one point was playing the SNES ones, but never really continued on any of them. I did play the shit out of some Chrono Trigger though.

I've only played FFI and FFII so...I'll just pick FFII

Also, because I've always had a particular soft spot for Selphie.

My vote goes to VI... Also... my collection
First 3 are older pictures.. last one is when I was going through my stuff to reorganize.. still doesn't show everything
None.
I like the theory that "the best" Final Fantasy game is always going to be the first one you played. Especially as a child.

You know, that might just have some merit.
And holy shit, fox, that's an impressive FF collection.
I vote FFVI, cuz it has a epic story. Althought, I will never stop playing FF1 to FF7 (including Mystic quest). Other got kinda garbage I think. X2 is surely the worst though. Very first FF I played was FF6, followed by Mystic quest. So just to break your "rule", I voted against my first play
.
I also like the concept of changing class in FF5, allowing you to customize your heroes bit more. Meanwhile, it's the hardest FF on Snes, which can hurt many people's feeling. I'd say thought, FF6 will probly be the most popular overall, minus if SEN is filled by 18- years old people that never ran into a good game before
And yes Fox, I'd say you had some quite bunch of money to... throw away? o.O
But I do respect the collection, because it's Final Fantasy
Edit: Oh yeah, meanwhile. Don't do any mistake between FFII =/= FFVI and FFIII =/= FFVI. FF1-3 are pretty rare stuff on nes that been pretty much not released in North america (neither is FF5 *for what I know*) Viva emulators! (cost less than collections
).
Ever bugged FF6 to get many atma weapon, bugging setzers (or whatever the gambit is called) and many other bug that can be done on console?

Let me show you how to hump without making love.
Well the first FF that I played was 7, but I voted for 9. Just nothing beats how much I adored FFIX and the amount of time I spent replaying it.
None.
I voted X2 because BOOBS.
J/k, FFVII cause I'm a prick.

Thanks everyone for the words to my collection.. XD It desperately needs to be catalogued but... it's.. REALLY hard to get motivated to do it properly because there's just so much to go through and I keep getting more XD.
And yes, it's a passion of my life so I do my best to collect things for it.
(And on that note, if anyone wants to sell or donate to it, do let me know!
)

And FF II (US SNES) is FF IV (JP), and FF III (US SNES) is FF VI (JP).
Indeed II, III, and V weren't released to us lowly Americans til later on...
An interesting note, is that FF II was slated and mostly made for America, and was titled Final Fantasy II - Dark Shadow Over Palakia
You can buy repro carts with it made on it and it works pretty solidly...
YAY RANDOM FF INFO! XD
