Praetor

So, I deleted a crapload of messages from the sent/inbox. When I go into the folder, it shows how many are left and shows the right numbers, but when I leave, say, the inbox, and go to the sent folder, it shows me the proper amount of sent, but the old amount in inbox. I'm not able to send or receive messages, it appears, due to this bug.

Same. My Sent folder has 211 messages but shows as 220 unless I'm viewing it directly. I am thus also unable to communicate via PM, whereas normally I'd have space for 9 more PMs.

(I figure, why clean it out now when doing so would have no effect? Might as well let it sit, since deletion does nothing.)

EDIT: I think you can send PMs, but copies are not stored in the Sent folder, and no confirmation message is displayed after sending. (The Messages layout is there with a sidebar, but nothing is in the content area.)

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

This is a known bug. Hopefully someone (Devourer or DTBK or perhaps IP) can find and fix this. This seems to be a recent problem after IP updated the code, so he would probably be the one who can fix it*.

This bug should be fixed. Loading each folder of your message box will resync the count for message in that box, and any further deletions will be correctly reflected in your message totals. Please report any further bugs in this topic.

Great, now it correctly states that I have 138, rather than the 70-something previously displayed. Sadface. My mafia brothers will not like me having to delete old PMs.

Oh yes, and it still says it's a new private message.

Edit: Just the top-left notification claims the new message and won't go away. The actual new messages section became empty after viewing the PM, as it should.

Oops. Try it again - not sure about the notification, but the message should definitely be delete-able now.

Yes, deleting is working perfectly now :)

However, the notification is still there, telling me that I have a new message, even after I had read/deleted it.

I can't log in on DevliN because of that error. I thought it was universal until I opened SEN normally on Firefox without any issues.

EDIT:
Apparently LoveLess can't log in as well, due to the error.

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

I checked my PMs a minute ago and got...

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/starlite/public_html/scripts/messages/messages.php on line 70
...on the top. I can still see my messages and all, so this isn't a huge issue. My guess is it has to do with the PM notification (since I didn't get any notifications for the PMs)?

EDIT:
Scratch that, I can't see any PMs anymore. There is no Inbox, Sent, etc.

EDIT2:

Here's what it looks like, though I'm not sure if its the same for everyone.

Yeah, if you checked your new messages in this interval, your folders got destroyed. I need to turn off PMs until I can make sure I fix this without dropping any more of the query.

Back* from the grave

Every time I view PMs, unless I view my Sent box, it says I have 2 in the Sent box. Upon viewing, it displays the correct number (4). Inside the Settings tab, it has the correct number of messages in my Inbox (70), but adds the lesser number from my Sent box.

Also, as you can see in the third image, there's a little problem with the mismatch thing again...and this doesn't go away after viewing. Also, even on that page, you can see the entire issue. "Folder contains 4 of 72 messages" is what I mean by that last sentence.

An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

Yeah, it appears the PM fix implemented a while ago is no longer functioning. Fortunately, I cleaned out my messages when it was working, so the numbers are low.

Same experience as poison, with different numbers. My Inbox folder contains 22 messages, but displays 23 when unselected. My Sent folder contains 16, but displays 12 when unselected. The total messages are based on the inaccurate (unselected) numbers 23 and 12.

Feb 3 2011, 4:17 am DT_Battlekruser Post #19

Oh god.. there might actually not be a simple fix for this. I might be able to write something really sketchy, but it probably isn't worth it since the entire core is more or less completely broken thanks to IP's half-assed update.

I will look more closely when I get a chance but this might actually be beyond the very limited time I can give to SEN.

Also, if someone could fix the goddamn spelling error ("Message", not "Mesage", SERIOUSLY), I would very, very much appreciate it :sneaky:
