I order you to forgive yourself!

Through my searches for an Uberation 2 download last night I found the Koreans have made a 'counter' to TinyMap2 caleld SCMREC, it reconstructs every single section of a map. I have yet to test it.

I just tried it on one of my maps and most of the triggers were missing.

What about the terrain/ISOM data? I have doubts about that...

Well it's not like many people understand how maps are supposed to be read (not even authors of such tools), so I doubt it can fix every trick in the book. As for TinyMap2, it doesn't necessarily matter since the goal is not protection. I'm still wondering if the MPQ compression algorithm can be amped up a bit.

Oi Farty, can you fix the "set resources" bug? It's stopping me from using this on my map.

None.

Lanthanide, you'll have to elaborate on "set resources bug". It could mean anything.

Apr 23 2010, 9:09 pm Lanthanide Post #107

Heinermann, if you actually read the topic, especially the first post, you will see that Farty already knows about this bug. I am just giving him a kick up the pants to fix it.

Although since it is just setting the value to 0, rather than removing the action entirely, I think I'll just crack open a hex editor and fix it myself.

SCMREC had been made before TM2 but so far it seemed like a pretty good method for countering.

I'm having an issue with losing Player 1's fog of war data, and seemingly only Player 1.

Happened to this map and slipped past me: http://sc.nibbits.com/maps/view/132523/zombie-outbreak-rpg-146-lite
Reproduces on this map and all following versions: http://sc.nibbits.com/maps/view/132540/zombie-outbreak-rpg-147-lite

Short version is that I have probably 90% of the map revealed in the fog layer except for a few items obscured to keep their pixels off the map and a large portion of the lower left corner.

I'm using the latest version, downloaded from this topic and checked date and version to be sure.

Just want to say tinymap2 is awesome and working great for me.

It's still not at its maximum potential compression. I don't knnow if Farty will still be updating it.

May 26 2010, 10:14 am Aristocrat Post #114

Farty needs to make this open-source.

An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

I noticed that wav files that are not used in the game triggers but are used for the mission briefing are still removed. All wav files used in triggers are kept, but anything else is removed, so briefing-specific wav files are gone. It would be nice if this was remedied.

A quick fix for the problem as of right now is to make a trigger with conditions that won't ever be met that has actions to play the wav files.

May 28 2010, 6:25 pm ClansAreForGays Post #116

My mission briefings use wavs that arent used in game, and they run fine.

Although I do notice my briefings speeding through parts faster than they were.

I think that's not a problem of tiny map 2. I experienced this tendency that briefing timing is somewhat erratic independently from tiny map.

Any word on a new version before SC2 kills everything off?

Still having problems with P1's fog of war getting filled completely in, even after painting all the corners with a little and even when I clear all of it.

May have to resort to using/removing map revealers.

@Ranzear: There is still a FoW problem right?
@Roy: Does that WAV problem still exist?

Yes, the problem with wav files still occurs (and yes, I have the latest version). I attached an example map of this. Apparently TinyMap2 recognizes the wav as being unused and defaults it to "Do Not Add." The wav right after it gets recognized as having an instance in both MBRF and TRIG, although its only reference is in the trigger section. When I try changing the briefing wav so that it is added, the resulting map is corrupted. If I leave it be, the briefing is dead silent while the in-game wav plays as expected.

The second attachment is a map with practically nothing on it, but TinyMap2 doesn't like it for some reason. I figured I would post it for diagnostic purposes.
