There is some DLC for people who have purchased the Razer Hydra. This Portal 2 DLC is specifically designed around the concepts of the Razer Hydra, such as moving the portals around, punting objects (like gravity gun) and manipulating objects (stretching and warping a cube so it can be used as a bridge). You CAN'T play the DLC without the Hydra, and I don't think the Hydra is worth my time, but it may be of interest to you guys.
Also I am curious because they have put a lot of work into the co-op, which is interesting considering most people will only play it once. So I suspect Portal 2 is going to be a game that is patched very frequently (think TF2), constantly adding new co-op missions to improve longevity.
What I was most disappointed with puzzle-wise is that none of them were challenging to a skilled player, none of the portals were tricky timing-wise or accuracy-wise. I was also annoyed that though they introduced a lot of concepts, there were few maps that really integrated all of them together.
In test chamber 17 of portal one, I got fed up trying to figure it out, so I jammed sensory equipment things in the doors so they wouldn't close..
That's my achievement for life.
I should have thought about that! Good Job (Did it work?)
Yes but the doors only stayed open for a little bit before they closed ontop of it, with it still in it. You had to be able to work fast.
Also, did anyone notice there are two versions of this puzzle?? One where there are buttons to the left and right of the thing, and one where the button is in the pathway leading through the doors? (Still portal 1)
ALSO NO PNEUMATIC DIVERSITY VENTS WTFFFFF (portal 2)

I think this game was amazing personally. I found the difficulty a little easier. But the game seemed to take a different approach from Portal 1. (to me) it seemed like they made it so the levels were harder to figure out, but easier to actually do. I was really expecting a bit more difficulty, though. It also felt a little streamlined. I only found 1 alternative solution to a puzzle, and it wasn't that off from the original, nor was it as easy.
Which puzzle? I'm sure there are tons of alternate solving methods, but I'm sure they're hard as hell to find out. Maybe that's the challenge?
Spoiler Portal 2
Do you think the companion cube at the end of the game is the old companion cube you had? I mean it looks all burnt up.

"If a topic that clearly interest noone needs to be closed to underline the "we don't want this here" message, is up to debate."
Also, I was right, alternate solutions are just a LOT harder to do. I have one in the works atm.
Note that all of the things in here aren't alternate solutions, but this guy is crazy as hell (not me). Look at his other video where he ran up to P-body.

And I can't drop this guy off a rail?! Or at all?!

Yeah, I actually find the moddle-coddling a little much. You can't just randomly jump off any rail you want, even if you can manage to get on top of them you still can't fall down. This actually became a bit frustrating when playing through in Commentary mode, because your can't save your game, at all. That means if you've gone past an area that you want to go back to, you have to kill yourself and hope that it resumes the game from an appropriate point. But if you go too far past the section you want, when you kill yourself you'll start after that section, and to get back to it you'll have to start the chapter again manually from the 'new game' menu. A bit stupid, really.
I loved in past HL games and in Portal 1 when you could just pick up or interact with nearly any object. And it removes the hilarity of spontaneous suicide... When I got to the big pit with the brown rusty/toxic water the first thing I did was jump in. I want to do that everywhere.
You can't save? There is a save game option if you press esc, and does F6 not work anymore?
It was still a great game and I think it was an excellent sequel ... ;o And those complaining about certain parts and character appearances [/nospoiler] being silly, I feel the game is supposed to have comic undertones in the first place... it's not meant to be totale srs.

They added "challenge" mode to SP and co-op, but it is just all of the existing levels, just timed and with # of portals used, and it shows your result on a graph compared to the rest of the community, as well as anyone on your friends list. So there aren't actually any new challenge puzzles or anything. Also being # portals or time isn't really the greatest way to create a challenge, because it means you can go very very slowly with only a few portals, or rush through it placing dozens hap-hazardly. If they had fastest speed and lowest # portals together it might be a bit more interesting. It also just shows your position on the distribution graph, it doesn't give you a ranking like "402nd out of 104,032" or anything, which would be better for bragging rights. I also suspect that these will eventually be 'won' by people who exploit bugs and glitches in the game so it really seems quite limited in utility.
The only real new content is the new co-op campaign, which consists of 9 levels. I didn't think this was nearly as hard as the original co-op campaign, although I played through that with a guy who hadn't played Portal 1 and had only done the first 2 hours of the single player, so the lack of difficulty this time could have just come from playing with someone much more experienced. Anyway the new campaign took about 2:30 - 3 hours all up. The storyline is a bit weird and wasn't told particularly well, I don't think, and the ending was sort of 'meh', it felt like a big build up for nothing.
The new levels didn't have any new mechanics, compared to some community maps I've played that added in new concepts like gravity manipulation, wind force, fire etc. Some of the chambers were really large, while some others were quite compact. There was one chamber (unfortunately by far the easiest in the set, could easily be completed by a single person without any trickery) that used portal gel, which is nice as that has only been used sparingly so far. There's a minor amount of propulsion gel and quite a bit of repulsion gel used.
Yeah I'm not a big fan of Westernhagen either, Fanta vier much better! But they didn't drop the lyrics that fit the situation. Farty: Ich bin wieder hier; nobody: in meinem Revier; Me: war nie wirklich weg
