Explore the bustling city of Elemain before venturing out into the dangerous wilderness.

Three unique classes to choose from. Play alone or with friends!

Level up and customise your character to best suit your playstyle.

Tear your enemies apart with a wide variety of spells.

Keep yourself alive with these handy consumables.

Every RPG needs loot!

If you want the best items you're going to have to craft them.

Because the features just keep coming.

Does this map use EUDs?
Does this map work on the current version of Starcraft?
When I start the game I get instant defeat WTF?
You're trying to play in singleplayer. You CAN play by yourself but it has to be on either LAN or Battlenet mode.
I can hear two songs at once.
This map has its own music so you have to mute the in-game music in settings or CTRL + M. If you don't like the custom music you can disable it in the settings menu inside the Journal.
What's up with the filesize?
Custom sounds make up the majority of the filesize.

2010 (Hells Awakening) - 2847 triggers
2012 (Hells Awakening) - 7323 triggers
2014 - 22,924 triggers
2015 - 28,190 triggers
2016 - 30,228 triggers
Today - 41,764 triggers

What a journey! Thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way. Thanks especially to the testers and the folks at UMS Assistance for their 24/7 mapping assistance.
And of course special thanks have to be given to jjf28 and Suicidal Insanity, creators of CHKDraft and SCMDraft, respectively. Without high-powered custom editors such as these maps like this would not exist!

I will be monitoring this closely once the Remaster comes out to make sure everything is still running smoothly.
Please provide feedback and bug reporting as I will try to keep patching them as soon as they are discovered.
I do have plans for other projects, so stay tuned on that front. In the immediate future, however, I will be looking at adding some additional features to this map that have been frequently requested (such as item swapping and an intro skip option).
I'm also working on a companion guide PDF which I will put up shortly.
Lastly, I have been working with a Korean who has kindly been helping me translate my map into Korean. So once the dust settles I will be working on a Korean version for the Korean UMS gamers to enjoy.

Raccoon City Remastered - Panzer_Kavalier's map redone with new missions, bosses and EUDs.
One Piercing Note - a fully voice acted murder mystery.

Okay. I think that's everything. I hope you enjoy the finished product!

Just here for the pie

Amazing, congratulations on the release. I can't believe you started this around 10 years ago and now it's done.

This has been a long time coming, and I'm so glad that The Architect has finally been released. As someone who has played earlier versions of this map while it was in development, I urge everyone to download and play it immediately.

I can say without exaggeration that it's the most impressively crafted RPG map I've ever played. Hands down.

It's gonna be awesome to play it again with 4K art assets and new sound when Remastered comes out.

I think they are trigger counts.

@Oh_Man can it still run on the latest version of SCBW? or do we need to downgrade?

It works with the latest version of BW. No need to downgrade. The map doesn't use any EUDs or mods that would require downgrading.

Thanks all. ^^

Companion guide is now available.

With Remaster less than one hour away I present to you version 1.1, with two features heavily requested:

You can now skip the tutorial. To do this, as soon as you gain control of your character open the journal and go to the settings menu. It will be option 7.

You can now swap items in the Compare menu instead of having to manually unequip items.

Enjoy! :D

EDIT: I've just uploaded version 1.2. There was a bug with the tutorial skip function that glitched out the EXP system. Apologies for the 32 of you who downloaded that today.

My next plans are to investigate reducing the file size and implementing an ability to skip dialogue.

I'm also happy to say that the map is running smoothly in remaster. :)

Though some of the extended terrain definitely looks gnarly. A new era of blending will have to begin!

EDIT: V1.3 is out now. Fixed a bug causing Iredite's intro to be broken as a result of implementing the Tutorial Skip function.

During "One Lord's Plight" after you give the Gambler wolf meat, one of the medics in the tavern started healing me forever. I could stay there and get to full hp.

Congratulations on the release, it's impressive how consistently high-quality this project has been. I'm glad you were able to see it to completion :)

Hey just wanted to give my gratitude.

This is perhaps the most amazing map I have ever seen in SC.

Well done man!

Also I love the companion guide. It makes me really happy for some reason to see how much effort you've put into this project, and how high quality it is. Way to go

Do you use a trigger editor to create so many triggers?

How do you get past the damn teleporter/flame trap room in the monastery?? Tried for way too long and gave up.

Also this happened during the sewer sequence:

There's a crystal on the left side of the room i believe, it changes colors. You can only walk through the invisiable walls past the flame traps when it's a certain color

Yeah, when it turns purple (if memory serves) you have to be standing still. You have to walk when it's blue and then stop before it turns purple.

I got stuck on that puzzle room for quite a while too.

Just finished the game! :w00t: I played solo. So here are my two cents:

Took ~3 hours. I didn't finish any of the side quests completely.

I couldn't kill the haunted caverns Archon guy so I just said fuck this quest.

The Caves quest I didn't finish completely because I didn't want to take the time to kill the missile turrets.

TBH a lot of my time was spent being frustrated that I could hardly move in the forest without being killed. So to complete some of the questions I just layed down the attraction quests things and just booked it. Not sure if that's how you meant it to be Oh_Man, but that's how I got through it. That is, until I got to a certain level and just fucked shit up completely haha.

The game is interesting because it feels like the world is so big, the wilderness, the town, etc. But in reality, looking back, it's not haha! I bet all of the actual walking and gameplay parts could fit in a map half the size of 256x256. That's not a criticism just something very interesting! It's actually a complement because you made the world seem so big and diverse when in reality it's fairly small. Like, the wilderness area isn't that big, but boy does it feel big when you're getting chased by a shit ton of monsters.

After I beat the game though I wish you would have given me the chance to save it before sending me to the victory screen. There were a couple other talking options besides "epiilogue" that I would have liked to check out but I couldn't because the game ended haha. So maybe give a heads up, or don't end the game in victory, just say vicotry so we can continue playing and exploring if we want, because i honestly wanted to!

Overall 10/10, thank you for making this.

How many Acts do you intend to make? This was only Act 1 right? At the current production speed I'm afraid computers will be replaced by micro chips in our brains before you finish them all :bleh: Basically I'm just saying don't take another decade to make the next Act because I really liked it and want to play more!

I should note that I hate RPGS and have never played one for more than 15 minutes. But this, being so cool, I actually finished. So that's big props from me,

Thanks man!

NT kinda did Ultraviolet
Ultraviolet shouted: I always thought it was kind of messed up to impersonate someone without their permission, but I guess that's artistic license for you. When you get into the realm of using AI to do it.. it seems even worse to me, but I'm not sure why
[2023-12-08. : 8:38 pm]
Zoan -- and tbh no, this is exactly the type of thing ai should be used for. Now if you were monetizing it, I would say you should emohasize you used ai for the voicelines

Oh_Man -- but if i want to make a LOTR map and use AI generation to give aragorn etc more voice lines am I now suddenly crossing a line? wen did we get so snowflakey
[2023-12-08. : 2:23 pm]
Oh_Man -- well we been doing dodgy stuff in SC for ages playing resident evil and helms deep maps - we dont own the rights to them
[2023-12-06. : 8:46 pm]
Ultraviolet -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Ultraviolet absolutely. You can count me among those folks. ;) But I understand it. It's a silly name only kids find funny. However to know that and still own it that would be the manliest move in my eyes.
Yeah, I can appreciate that perspective. I've used so many handles over the years, I think I had less attachment to NerdyTerdy than some of the folks here. Just never changed my name much here cause it was expensive :P I still kind of like the NT name, but definitely prefer Ultraviolet. I think UV has been my handle for around half my life at this point O.o
[2023-12-06. : 6:34 pm]
NudeRaider -- So the question is will we as a society become resilient against these forms of attacks? Either by detecting or accepting? Find new ways to deal with it? I guess we will have to wait and see.

da real donwano shouted: Society is not ready for the AI power we're being given. I'll die on that hill.
"social media" is imo a much better example for "society was not ready for it". We haven't seen yet where AI will lead us. It has a lot of potential for good, but then again, so had social media. For now the only potential for abuse in AI that I see is in forgery of various kinds.
[2023-12-06. : 6:26 pm]
NudeRaider -- Oh_Man
Oh_Man shouted: guys what are your thoughts on AI voice cloning vs someone doing impressions. why is one moral and the other immoral? or do you think both are fair game
For me it's the intent that make the difference, not the method. If you copy someone for profit or harm, then that's immoral. If your goal is satire then all bets are off. I think people are just afraid to be deceived because AI removes skill from the equation and painting AI usage as immoral is their weak attempt to defend against it.
