how big is minecraft installed? I have like no space left on my hard drive, lol.
About 50MB + minimum 3MB for each singleplayer world save you create. The saves become bigger the more you explore as more data is generated.
I've done a shitton of exploring on one, and it's only 8.32 MB. It's the RAM usage you gotta worry about; if you have enough HD space to patch HoN you've got enough for at least 2-3 save files. The RAM is extensively wasted, because it doesn't delete old data, even when you exit the particular world you're on.
He said in his blog he MIGHT be adding pistons to the next update. Weather and achievements are comin also... its gonna be so awesome.. rainstorms while exploring the wilderness and blizzards... UGH SO EPIC!
There's already images for snow and rain, all he needs to do is add sound and code it. Not too hard.
What would be neat is a storm weather, where theres more rain, less light, and lightning strikes add 10 or 11 light for one tick. Also, turning sand to glass at the point of impact (or randomized between 0 and 1 adjacent sand blocks...so a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 6 total blocks) would be pretty damn neat.
Now, hopefully a further update to terrain generation, because the game loses it's awe inspiring terrain system's edge when there's a random patch of 100ft of snow followed by desert.
The piston mod, I haven't tried it yet, but could you theoretically make a floodgate with it?
