You think back to when you were invited to stay here by the owner. He was a man you barely knew, aside from talk that he was somewhat wealthy. You'd met him on only one occasion, through a mutual acquaintance. When he approached you, asking if you would attend a get-together at his place for the weekend, you were fairly surprised, though you accepted the gracious offer to get away for a while. However, upon arriving alone and mingling with the other guests, you got the distinct impression that he had invited many of the people the same way. No one seemed to be particularly close to him, or even know him that well. Everyone appeared to be having fun and getting along relatively well.
Also, the house totals to three stories, but some parts are only two stories high.
#2You think back to when you met the owner. You were with your accountant at his office, going over some numbers with your finances, and this man arrived to speak with him. Your accountant introduced the two of you to one another before they left briefly to an adjacent room. They returned after a moment, and as he was leaving, the owner asked the accountant whether or not he could come for the weekend. The accountant said he was unfortunately too busy, at which point the owner mentioned that it would be fine for him to stop by for a few hours rather than the whole weekend. The accountant again declined. The owner then turned to you, and made you the same offer. You were surprised to say the least, but decided to accept.
You remember that before the murder, many of the guests had gone upstairs, either to go to their rooms or to use the bathroom. You think that perhaps all of them did, at one point or another. The one person you're certain about is yourself, as you were sharing a guest bedroom with another person upstairs.
You look at the knife, and see that it appears to be very generic in nature. The handle of the knife is made of wood, and the blade has no serrations. It doesn't look particularly familiar to you. Turning your eyes to the owner, his facial expression is calm and emotionless. The pool of blood seems to indicate the corpse has not been moved. Everything is how you remember it.
Apparently, we were supposed to stay for the weekend, and I shared a bedroom with someone. NO HOMO.
#3Thinking back, you're unsure of exactly who was at the house when you got there, aside from rayNimagi who you remember entering from the sunroom. A few people arrived after you as well. After everyone was present, there was a brief tour of the first floor, then the group disbanded. The owner handed you your room key and you went upstairs, to the last room on the right, after heading right from the top of the stairs. At the time, he was smiling and seemed to be in a very good mood.
After entering your room, you came to find that you were sharing the room with Vi3t-X, though he walked out as you were walking in. After a while of lying in your bed, and then putting your clothing away in your designated dresser, you slid your bag under your bed and left the room. As you closed the door behind you and locked it, Wing Zero exited from the room across from you, walking past you to go downstairs. You followed, going down into the lobby.
The owner was there by himself, and started up some small talk with you. You answered him directly, and not feeling like conversing, said you were headed to the kitchen to get a pre-dinner snack. As you entered the kitchen, Tempz passed you, walking into the dining room. You looked around the kitchen, found a box of granola bars, and started to eat one of them. As you were finishing the last bite, you heard the scream that led you to investigate.
#4You think back to when the owner invited you to come. When he asked, you decided to accept because it sounded like it could be fun, like a small vacation you were getting for free. You figured it would be nice to get away for a few days, maybe meet some new people and have a good time. He didn't say anything unusual and you were not especially reluctant. You are sure it was the first time you'd ever seen him before, and you also didn't recognize any of the other guests.
I think I've recalled all I can. I didn't know anyone here prior to arrival, I knew nothing about the owner, I brought nothing of value in our current situation, I didn't witness anything suspicious, and I didn't notice the movements of others much before the murder.
#5I'm in the garage, and no, I don't want any company. I'll return to the house shortly.
Looking at the north wall, you see there is a sturdy metal door leading north. It has the kind of turning lock built into the doorknob that is very common to see. There do not appear to be any other exits.
Thinking back, you remember that you went with the group during the tour. When it ended in the lobby, you stayed a few moments, and remember seeing Vi3t-X and EzTerix heading up the stairs together. You're unsure who else left the room or in what directions, as you were busy asking the owner for your room key. There were a few people still remaining in the lobby, but you weren't paying attention to them as you headed for the staircase.
When you heard the scream that led you to investigate, you were in the kitchen, so it didn't take you long to get to the lobby. You were mainly focused on Roy, who was standing beside the corpse, but you also remember that Zilean bent down to check the pulse of the owner. You're certain that a number of people entered after you, though you weren't paying much attention to them at the time.
#1here is my vague recollection from last turn

and if I have a spare action then I might do that cobb.
#2Here's my recollection results:
You think back to when you were invited to come here. You were at a store, hanging out with your friends, and one of them said "Dude, this other dude totally asked me to come hang out with him at his crib." You said, "Damn dude, that's wack." Then he said, "Yeah I know right? I almost said yes for a sec, since he looked real fly between his Rolex and threads, but then I was like, naw dude, I ain't down." You considered this for a moment, and after realizing the man must be wealthy and might be hosting an excellent party, you said "Yo dude point out this sucka."
He used his index finger to indicate to you who it was that made the offer, and you went over and stood a few feet from the owner, looking for an opportunity to go over and ask for an invitation. However, to your surprise, within less than 30 seconds he was already walking over to you, and made you the offer himself. You said, "Hell yeah dude I be down for that, where I sign man?" He simply smiled, and after putting your number into his cell phone, said he would contact you later to arrange your ride.
so basically all I was looking forward to was beer pong LOL
#3Recollection
Thinking back to before the murder, you remember that Zilean was your roommate, but aside from that there wasn't anything particularly memorable about him. You don't have any idea why there would be blood in your room.
Zilean was my roommate of course and I have no idea why there are bloody rags. -CLEARED OF BLOODY RAG SUSPICION-
#4You think back to when you arrived. You entered the lobby, where a good number of people were gathered already. Shortly thereafter, someone else arrived, and the house owner began the tour of the first floor. Afterward, you received your room key and went up to your room, where you stayed until you heard the scream which caused you to investigate.
also aristocrat you don't need to know where I'm at because I don't want to be on your map and I don't want you sending people at me for minerals.
who hasn't posted their recollections yet?
#1My recollection:
You think back to when you were invited to stay here by the owner. He was a man you didn't knew at all, although he dressed in a way that indicated he might be somewhat wealthy. The only time you had met him was while you were ringing out his groceries at the store, where you work as a cashier. He stuck out to you due to his style of dress, and you'd seen him at the register a few times. When he asked if you would attend a get-together at his place for the weekend, you were fairly surprised. However, upon arriving and mingling with the other guests, you got the distinct impression that he had invited many of the people the same way. No one seemed to be particularly close to him, or even know him that well.
After arriving, you took your bags up to your room, which you found you were sharing with Wing Zero, and slid them under the bed. You left the room to go to the bathroom, and after finishing, entered the hallway just as DavidJCobb was leaving down the stairs. You returned to your room to find Wing Zero gone. You emptied the clothes from your bag, organized them in your designated dresser, and as you finished, you heard the scream which caused you to go downstairs.
You did not know the owner well enough to determine who might have a reason to kill him, and didn't get the impression from any of the guests that they knew him well enough to have such a reason.
Paper or Plastic?
#1You are a man in the middle-class bracket who has come here for a few hours to enjoy yourself. The owner was a man you only knew through work, and he was one of your more wealthy clients, having you install one of the largest walk-in freezers you'd ever worked on. When he approached you, asking if you would attend a get-together at his place for the weekend, you were fairly surprised. You declined due to having to work, but he insisted you come for at least a few hours. Upon arriving and mingling with the other guests, you got the distinct impression that he had invited many of the people the same way. No one seemed to be particularly close to him, or even know him that well.
You remember arriving at the mansion via a transport service hired by the owner, in a fancy black car that dropped you off at the gate and left. You brought nothing of particular interest with you, and immediately after arriving you were standing in the lobby, talking to some other guests. You estimate you were in the house for at least a few hours before the murder occurred.
#1You think back to your arrival at the property. When you arrived, no one else had shown up yet, and you were worried that you would be the only guest. You stayed in the sunroom for a while until the rest started showing up. When you entered the lobby, there was already a small crowd gathered, talking to each other and the owner. After the rest arrived there was a brief tour around the first floor, and then the group disbanded.
You spent the next few hours walking around and talking to various people, plus getting yourself something to eat, you finally ended up going to sit on the front steps. As you exited the front door, you remember Zilean entering the house. You sat down, enjoying the cool night air. A few minutes later, you heard the scream which caused you to go back inside.
Apparently, I was outside when the murder happened. I must've been one of the earlier people to arrive at the scene of the murder (being only two? rooms away).
#2Ray are you out in the hall? I didn't manage to make it out just yet.
Yeah, I'm hanging around the upstairs hall on the very east part I think. I'm moving to the northeast bedroom though and giving it a more thorough search. Is there something you need help with?

You think back to when you met the owner. He was one of the members of your swimming aerobics class, where you often went to remain fit. You'd never actually spoken to him before, so you were surprised when he approached you and asked you to come for the weekend. You declined at first, but he insisted you come for at least a few hours, and said he would provide transportation. You decided it couldn't hurt and agreed. You are not sure who, if anyone, he knew well enough that they could hold a grudge against him.
As you finish recollecting this, you hear the door to the south unlock, and it opens.
Who came out of there?
#3You think back to when you entered the lobby from the sunroom. There were a few people there, though you don't remember exactly who they were now. You think one of them may have been arkla. The rest of the guests arrived afterward, but you weren't paying attention to anyone in particular, as it didn't seem important at the time.
Immediately after the group split up, you're unsure of where DavidJCobb went. After staying in the lobby for a little while, you proceeded to the upstairs bathroom, then back down to the lobby, went to the dining room for a bit, then the kitchen, and then you proceeded to the stairs outside. There was no one present in the kitchen for the short time you were there.
I think I will go into the kitchen and make a torch.

Try to 'recollect' why I showed up here in this house/mansion in the first place. What was my purpose here? Who are these other people? What might be an obvious reason for a murder to take place?

Taking this into account, you're entirely unsure why anyone here would want to kill him. Not only is it unlikely anyone could have formed such a murderous grudge toward him so quickly, but he seemed to be a kind person, as far as first impressions go. It was also incredibly generous of him to invite so many people to stay there who he barely knew, though you thought to yourself at one point that he was probably lonely living in such a remote place by himself.Interesting...

My action:
If alone (and if not, then while not losing awareness of others), begin a recollection of all events between my arrival on up to the time of the murder. Try to prioritize the people I was with over the locations I've been, if this becomes an issue. Drop sack or take a seat or whatever first if this improves (but not precludes within this turn) my recollection ability.
Result:
Thinking back, you remember entering the property via the driveway, through an open gate. You walked into the house, where there were a number of people already standing in the lobby. People continually arrived, all the while the owner was making small talk with random people, ranging from the weather to news to sports. You talked to a few people, though nothing of any great consequence. You were more concerned with when something aside from idle chatter would occur.
Finally, the owner seemed sufficiently satisfied with the turnout, and began the tour of the first floor. After it was over, you quickly ducked out the backdoor through the sunroom, hoping to avoid any more asinine conversations. You walked the property a bit, though only on the north side of the house, before leaning up against a tree to rest. You dozed off, and awoke to the sound of the scream which led you to investigate. As you opened your eyes, you were sure you saw someone dart past you toward the backdoor.
