I did a meetup for a different forum last summer and it was semi sketchy, but turned out alright. The person lived in an apartment in a bad section of a small city which kind of made me nervous when I first got there. Him, his roommate, and the other person who came all liked to smoke heavily which was kind of annoying. The host was in his mid to late 20's so there was a slight age difference too. What made it really sketchy was when the other guy who met us there, whose parents are legit millionaires, pulled out some mescaline which is a hard core psychedelic and asked if anybody wanted to do some with him... I don't mind drug use, I just don't do it myself so him, the roommate, and the host all got high off of mescaline and then all smoked some weed lol. I don't smoke either so I just kept drinking some beers. Anyways, after a while I realized I wasn't going to get robbed or buttraped we just chatted for a while and they were pretty cool people to talk to. The millionaire kid is a legit genious too, despite being a hardcore drug user.

tl;dr: Just be careful at these meetups. Now that I look back on it, it probably wasn't the smartest idea on going lol.
