Here be the 4D version. No download required... http://www.superliminal.com/cube/applet.html

An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

Sign me up. How many actions do we get per turn?

I don't understand this concept at all. The visuals are not helping.

I order you to forgive yourself!

We need to install something in order to try this?

For a 3D rubik's cube, you are taking one plane and rotating relative to the rest of the cube. For a 4D cube, you are taking one CUBE and rotating it relative to the rest of the hypercube, etc. (Your axis of rotation is a plane, but let's disregard that for now)

Mathematically, it's easy to represent the rotations, and it's easy to create a projection of the 5D entity into 3D, which is then mapped to 2D on your screen. Solving it requires thinking in terms of numerical values, rather than trying to visualize the entity, because when you try visualizing it, you inevitably think about rotation about an axis, which is not how it works at all.

If you mess around with the applet for a while, you should get the gist of it.

After watching the video, I felt like I was tripping out, not sure how I'd even begin to fathom how to do it. :awesome:

You stole the 4D Cube from me, didn't you? BTW, download the .jar for the 4D cube. There are some interesting things you can do...

I can't even do a 2-d rubix cube.

Either I'm way too stupid or this is taking it too far. I hope it's the latter...

Slightly off topic but, if you thought that video was trippy, watch this.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless
[05:02 am]
Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value
[05:01 am]
Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort
[12:51 am]
Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
