On the topic of fixing the horribly broken stuff in the shoutbox, I think that /a should be fixed to function as a "last whisper" rather than "last shout", as its current functionality is retarded.
Really retarded.
Use /r.
That does not do the same thing.
/a is a unique and useful function, and it's broken.
/r is actually extremely bad. Someone can whisper you during a conversation and intercept your confidential shout to somebody else. Raccoon does this shit all the time, sending random whispers to try and intercept /r.
??? I honestly have never done that. That would be the most inefficient way ever of trying to find out information. Just cause I whisper you doesn't mean I'm trying to intercept /r's lol. Maybe I just want to talk to you....
But I do agree, getting your /r intercepted is extremely annoying. Not sure how this could be fixed unless shoutbox became instant-shout box.
None.
No, /r is not a suitable substitute as it requires the other person to whisper you back first, when many times I have a few things in a row to say that are to then be followed up on. I also carry multiple whisper conversations at the same time, making /r actually somewhat useless and unpredictable.

Oh me! Me!~
/a.

Use the damn PM system then, people. If you have things that must be conveyed RIGHT NOW, and are super sekret, what is the problem with using the PM system? It allows others to never miss your shout buried under other text/get lost in the shoutbox refresh, complete confidentiality, and no character limit. Or was there? I forget. Regardless, PM > shoutbox whispers.
There's also the issue of your PM box being all cluttered up and being full. The last mafia game saw me empty out my PM box twice.
None.
When a post has been deleted and you press "View this post" It shows a blank screen with the shoutbox at the bottom and you don't get to see your post..
None.
And a message that says the thread or post is not visible, because it has been deleted. That's not a bug.

Why is it that you send us PMs when our posts or threads are deleted, and then link us to those posts? How are we supposed to know what offending content was on there? This has happened numerous times where I don't even remember what I posted. It'd be helpful if you included, say, the entire post in a quote, or an archived, invisible post that we could see. This hasn't happened to me recently, but the last time my post was deleted, I didn't get the message until weeks later (I had been temporarily afk from SEN).

I do no such thing!
If you don't know why the post was deleted or forgot what it said, you should contact the moderator and request the information.
Although it would be a nice feature to improve the messaging system like you have described, or even allow members to view their own deleted posts.

This.
Also, I haven't had a post deleted recently, but is it sent as a PM, or is it a notification? It would be nice, although a bit of a luxury, to have a 5 message expansion/partition just for notifications so as to not waste PM space.
None.
I don't know why I only remembered this issue just now. It's sent as a notice, though.

Done. Clicking the smilies in there won't do anything just yet, but you can at least look at them and type out them out manually.

Could someone be super awesome and make these two changes? I went ahead and wrote out the code.

Fixed the
one. And now to see if the other fix works.
EDIT:
The Wiki fix doesn't work, which is why Devourer said it was more complicated than it should be.
EDIT2:
Okay I got it to work, magically. I don't know PHP and I'm not a coder, but from the looks of it, the things works now. Yay.

Good job!
But if it's that easy, why not add a 3rd line to the dropdown that points to
http://www.staredit.net/topic/13129/ which holds much more comprehensive information than the SC1 wiki?
The hope would be that all of that ends up in the SC1 Wiki so we wouldn't need to link to 2 separate SC1 wikis. We already started porting most of it over.

We hope that for how long now? How long will it still take?
In the meantime I'd appreciate having the info where people actually find it.
You can just delete the redundant link from the wiki menu once it's all been transferred. Where's the disadvantage of my suggestion?
