We also have no idea what the roles are or the abilities that come with the roles. You could include a "Mindfuckery Inducer" role that has the ability to change the game in potentially imbalanced ways, and then say that this role was planned as one of the many hidden roles before the game so there's nothing wrong with it when we complain. I don't have an issue with hidden roles, really, but keeping the master list of roles hidden is the part that gets me. It could be a simple "Mafia, Doctor, Vigilante" list, or some massive thing full of roles or abilities I didn't know existed (which then goes back to my first point).

I had an idea of creating a publicly displayed, inaccessible zip file (that would be made accessible at the end of the game) including all the data for possible roles in this game, but I don't know how to do that.

Directed at everyone: If all possible roles were revealed when the game started, would that make you more willing to participate and/or have fun?

I think a number of roles in use would be useful to have, at the very least.
