Interesting theory. It's tough to gauge without knowing the role's power, but killing the role means that we know exactly what the remaining USS are capable of doing. Unless the Beguiler's ability extends to things that haven't happened yet, I think it's a very significant loss to disclose this information to the town.

We're both making assertions here: you're equally asserting that Riney is the revealed role without having any knowledge on what the Beguiler's "information manipulation" is. Also, I said it was unfair because you were implying that I thought Riney was the Beguiler role at one point and suddenly changed my mind, whereas I only changed my mind on his alliance. Your point is valid only in the respect that I changed my mind on his potential alliance. (This little argument was mostly a nitpicking semantic issue.)

Bear in mind that the other USS may not even know for sure what the Beguilers power is, since it isn't listed. Azrael said that it would be up to the beguiler to tell the others what his powers were, but that they may not even believe him. Perhaps the other USS knew for sure that Riney was the beguiler, but based on what Riney said they decided they'd sacrifice him at this point because they didn't need him any more, or because he was a risk to them. The beguilers achievement is "succeed", which makes me think it has a goal that is actually somewhat separate from the goal that the USS are using - perhaps the beguilers goal is to be the last man standing so they'd eventually have to kill their USS allies as well. Potentially the only way for the beguiler to achieve this (if it didn't have a hit ability, which seems like a safe bet) would have been to manipulate the other USS members as well as the bomb rigger and rogue engineer.

It was a reaction test; I do it quite frequently in Mafia. In fact, I did it by voting for poison immediately during the second vote day, even though I was pretty damn sure at the time poison was innocent.

The reason why I asked about the "No dead players talking" rule is because after skimming that non sensual text-wall "clue" I was trying to conceive a possibility of why you were voting for me.

Edit: I now vote for Daddywhoo, since that seems to be the (most) general consensus and I don't want dem USS swingin dem votes with the divided town

Here is the posting trend, at this point in the thread. Separated by dead/alive players, and the dead are further separated into alignment. Also included is the number of days and nights lived for the dead players (For example, Inferno was lynched Day 1. He did not live for one full day, thus he has lived for 0 days).



I think it's safest to knock off the lower posts first; if the USS post more than they have to, they risk giving off a negative vibe or slipping some information they shouldn't know. Then again, there's only one player with less posts than any mafia so far, and it appears that Daddywhoo only posts to defend himself. While this isn't a telltale sign of being anti-town, it's enough for me at this point, I'm willing to have to account for my opinion later.

I reaffirm my vote for Daddywhoo.

Look, if you've got a clue on someone, specifically say what it is. I don't know what you mean by 'first night' - do you mean what Azrael posted as the text for that night, or do you mean the discussions by posters afterwards? What you think is a 'clue on shadow' I might completely gloss over without giving it a second thought.

Also, shadow has claimed project director and AFAIK Roy has confirmed his role description on this.
