We, in Oo, are fine without SOLAR. Although his bots are always logged on, he isn't on a lot during the day. It isn't surprising to see him play a few hours at night, so don't say he's so inactive. :P ( I've been kind of inactive lately, I need to get caught up with school >_> )

Anyway, [MM] deserves to be up there, as they did have an official member list and you had to make a mod to get in.. and, of course, (U) deserves to be there as well. "Another prime example of a clan." Original is okay as well.. as for the rest, I have no idea. I guess they'll have to prove themselves over time.

I think the only problem with MM right now is Mod Team on Maplantis, it's basically the exact same thing...

Clan [MM]
Virtually every modder on this site claims to be a member of MM. This puts them in a precarious position. For example, if every nation on Earth became one, would it make any sense to continue to refer to the new nation as a "nation" at all? I think not. The same goes for Clan MM, which contains pretty much every modder and ends up not being a clan at all.

I fail to see every modder on SEN claiming to be part of [MM]. Take a look at our member list on Maplantis if you wish to see who is and who isn't an official [MM] member. We also meet every Saturday for Mod Night, and will occasionally get together on other days just to game for the hell of it. I fail to see how [MM] "isn't a clan"

You forgot your end tags :P.

To me MM seems like a kind of slack clan, but still a real one. They don't have to fit exact guidelines.

I think the only problem with MM right now is Mod Team on Maplantis, it's basically the exact same thing...

The two organizations are vastly different. The Mod Team was created by DoA to organize modders and create two specific projects. Members of Clan [MM] work on their own projects. [MM] hosts community events such as modding contests and Mod Nights, the Mod Team does not. [MM]embers must demonstrate their modding ability before joining the clan, the Mod Team has no restrictions.

As for our lack of a channel, I find it useless to maintain a clan channel when a good 90% of the time or so, we can't actually play our mods on Battle.net. (Bloody patches...) However, as Horde pointed out, we do meet at least once a week (frequently more than that) for gaming.

And to address the misconception that the entire modding community is in [MM], I think that bajadulce, DiscpleOfAdun, Tohron, FlyingHat, Syphon, Pie_Sniper, dumbducky, Laser_Dude, BroodKiller, IskatuMesk, Ermac, raidmax, Pandut, BSTRhino, U-238, SubFocus, nirvanajung, TheNomad, RoryFenrir, Deathman101, A_of_s_t, soxtuff, MidnightGladius, Blazer-X, werny, Hercanic, Oo.Twitch.oO, MNeox, Pie_Fanetic, Heinermann, Xenogis, ShadowFlare, Aqotrooper, shadowoscar, Holocaust, scourge_splitter, StealthyDeath, the Sons of War team and the good folks at the BWAI site and a number of our Warboardian friends, to name a few, might disagree with you.

I am not saying it's a bad thing or anything, I just think that the mod team is pretty much devised of MM members, and it's really just a huge group project, not really a "clan" or "team"

Dungeon Master

Why are we discussing the Mod Team at all?

:voy: :jaff: :voy: :jaff:

Sep 23 2007, 3:39 pm InsolubleFluff Post #71

Because it has a clan forum, when really it's just a big project that should be hosted in the MM forum...

Except for the fact that it's not run by [MM], isn't affiliated with [MM], has completely different goals and only 5 [MM]embers are involed in it.

It's listed under "Maplantis and Partners," just where it should be.

Dungeon Master

It's a team entirely separate from MM working on two large projects. The leadership is quite different, as well as the member base.

Why are we discussing Maplantis's clan forums?

:voy: :jaff: :voy: :jaff:

Sep 23 2007, 3:42 pm InsolubleFluff Post #74

Because the topic is clans and it's apparently a clan?
I just think that it might as well just be in MM forum, this isn't an arguement, so please, feel free to be quiet about it now ;D!

Sep 23 2007, 3:44 pm InsolubleFluff Post #76

Okay it's a group or a team, what's the differnce?

Dungeon Master

Your argument stated that it was a Clan. So, you sort of just disproved yourself.

If anything, it should be listed under the Modding forums. It would not be listed under the [MM] forums because it is not part of [MM].

Well no because what IS a clan, what do you define a clan to be?
A group of people? okay, well Mod Team has that...
A common goal? okay, well Mod team has that too...
Leadership? Well according to you, DoA is the leader...
Members? Mod team has that as well...

None.

Sep 23 2007, 3:50 pm Symmetry Post #80

Dungeon Master

I define a Clan as a group of people who call themselves a Clan. Which they don't.
