Responsible for my own happiness? I can't even be responsible for my own breakfast
I think the only problem with MM right now is Mod Team on Maplantis, it's basically the exact same thing...
The two organizations are vastly different. The Mod Team was created by DoA to organize modders and create two specific projects. Members of Clan [MM] work on their own projects. [MM] hosts community events such as modding contests and Mod Nights, the Mod Team does not. [MM]embers must demonstrate their modding ability before joining the clan, the Mod Team has no restrictions.
As for our lack of a channel, I find it useless to maintain a clan channel when a good 90% of the time or so, we
can't actually play our mods on Battle.net. (Bloody patches...) However, as Horde pointed out, we do meet at least once a week (frequently more than that) for gaming.
And to address the misconception that the entire modding community is in [MM], I think that bajadulce, DiscpleOfAdun, Tohron, FlyingHat, Syphon, Pie_Sniper, dumbducky, Laser_Dude, BroodKiller, IskatuMesk, Ermac, raidmax, Pandut, BSTRhino, U-238, SubFocus, nirvanajung, TheNomad, RoryFenrir, Deathman101, A_of_s_t, soxtuff, MidnightGladius, Blazer-X, werny, Hercanic, Oo.Twitch.oO, MNeox, Pie_Fanetic, Heinermann, Xenogis, ShadowFlare, Aqotrooper, shadowoscar, Holocaust, scourge_splitter, StealthyDeath, the Sons of War team and the good folks at the BWAI site and a number of our Warboardian friends, to name a few, might disagree with you.
