Myself and several other members of Bwmn are organizing a tournament to display the melee maps that they have been working on.

Click here to download the mappack!

If you wish to enter, the Contest is scheduled for Wednesday, July 27th 6:00 pm EST on the US-EAST server. Then just type "/j op Bwmn" to enter the contest.
If anyone has questions feel free to ask.

An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

Are you going to provide information on the tournament (i.e. brackets) as it progresses? Are you going to provide a summary of the event when it completes?

Jul 27 2011, 2:08 am ubermctastic Post #5

Well I'm not exactly in charge of that, and I'm not entirely certain how it's going to go. We don't know how many people are going to show up, and this is the first time I've done anything like this before. I'll find out who's constructing the brackets, and with their help I should be able to post results here, or a link to them, as the tournament is being held......

So yes

Correction: Results will only be posted after the tournament is completed. We don't have enough staff to be constantly updating things like this.

That's a compilation picture of all the maps. It's not just one giant multi-terrain map.

Wow very cool. Though I never played BW at a very good level, should be pretty interesting nonetheless.

I almost posted that same question yesterday... But it would have been as a joke. (But I decided not to do it since the topic was in Portal News.)

:O well that and phobic ( hes in charge ) didn't want us to publicize it because he was afraid we'd get to many people.

Your paranoid group leader was freaking out because he thought that posting this on the front page of SEN would attract hackers who would compromise your great tournament. Something's clearly wrong with him. :<_<:

Jul 27 2011, 11:00 pm ubermctastic Post #17

Well anyways the tournament has been moved to 7:00 which is right now. It doesn't matter the skill level it's just for fun.

Jul 28 2011, 3:07 am ubermctastic Post #18

The Tournament is over!
We had an overwhelming 4 people enter!
Don't worry though, because each matchup was best out of 3.
What does that mean? it means that I have 8 replays ready for you :D

From what I've heard, the brackets went something like this.

Not sure how accurate that is though.

Do this again and I should be there. (The only problem is that I can't get Starcraft to update to the latest version. I'll have to try again.)

No-Name-Needed-II -- Zoan No idea if anything changed.. I've made several maps that push TMOANC to the limit and they are still working.. 3 causes of it I've narrowed down are -Too many islands which some terrain on certain tilesets can create micro islands on cliff edges with basic isometric.. -Too many changes in elevation from high to mid to low ground.. -And too many tiles from certain doodads that block tank fire..

Oh_Man -- Wat precisely is wrong with spellsword now?

Oh_Man -- Did martiss' link not work?

Zoan -- Also my KOTK maps all have the nooks and crannies issue when they didn't before; what changed?

Zoan -- Hey why does Spellsword not work on remastered anytmore?

Oh_Man -- Anyone who is interested in ARPG game design this is a must read. Wyatt Cheng from Blizzard went into some juicy gos on the game design decisions of D3 including scrapped mechanics and post launch. Very interesting.
