? Forum for the wiki, where we discuss things particular to the wiki's layout, direction, etc.
? SC2 > Mapping > Data Editor. It's a powerful beast, just as much as triggering is.
? SC2 > Mapping > Tutorials. Create tutorials with the forum, discuss them, while/before/getsomeoneelsetodoit importing them to the wiki.

Tutorials, yes. No comment about the data editor. Wiki, meh. Not really necessary.

I'd have to say yes to the wiki forums. Indifferent on the other two... but sure why not.

It would be a lot easier to discuss the layout of a lot of the things that we are doing in a forum instead of the discussion pages.

What about simply use the "Projects" forum? It worked well for the Terrain Wiki imo. ;o

The Data Editor is definitely the most confusing part about the Galaxy Editor; it is incredibly (and, to me, disappointingly) non-intuitive. It deserves a forum.

We really need to clear up the index though.

Don't you guys love when IP is around and actively working on the site? Makes the future of SEN seem so bright and optimistic.

Yes on all 3 counts.

I'm sorry, I don't have SCII yet but the truth that this man speaks needs to be affirmed.

I'm indifferent to the Wiki one; the other two require that you have SCII (Sorta).

Indeed.

A wiki forum isn't needed if we start making use of [wiki=Staredit Network:Community Portal]the "Community Portal" that MediaWiki supplied us with by default[/wiki].

We could implement a tasklist on there, but how should we format it? Ideally, it'd be a definition list with a short description of each task and a link to the task's relevant talk page. (Tasks that wouldn't have any other place to talk about would get their own discussion on the Community Portal talk page, or perhaps on some dedicated subpage.)

Remember that MediaWiki supports subpages in all but the main article namespace (and that can be enabled if needed), so the Community Portal page can easily be made into a page that "contains" countless other pages. Think of it like a file that can also be a folder -- like a ZIP file.

>be faceless void >mfw I have no face

This is slightly offtopic, but should the Modeling forum be renamed Artwork, to encompass models, loading screens, icons, skins, and GUIs?

While you're at it, I don't mind moderating the Tutorials forum as well.

I still say we need a modding forum. Modding and mapping are still instrinctly different, because mods are (usually) still RTSes and maps are (usually) not.

Though, I'm not sure if mods can actually be used yet... If not, then wait for that. ;o

Same.
That's the kind of forum I'd like to moderate.
I love finding little tiny bitty bugs and fix them ^^

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

I think the reason we're waiting on any Modding forums is because the map editor essentially lets you create a new game using SC2 engine, in which case the Artwork forum(s) should suffice.

Mods, as in total conversions, are very similiar to maps in SC2. The main difference is you can have one mod for several maps, but (most) maps only use their exact custom content in one map. There isn't a big enough difference to justify more forums.

Did you not read what I just said? If you're making a mod, you have totally different things to worry about than if you're making a map.

That's like saying "Melee maps are very similar to UMS. The main difference is they don't have any triggers."

So let's scrap the melee section.

NudeRaider -- PSA: ASUS apparently decided their RMA department needs to "become profitable" and for a while now outright tries to scam customers. They were called out on it a year ago, promised to change, but didn't. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pMrssIrKcY so my recommendation: Stop buying ASUS, and if you already have and need something RMA'd, make sure to not let them bully you into paying.
