For those who don't know, you can double and quadruple the game speed by adding #x2 and #x4 to the end of the game name, respectively.
This has been a lot of fun
However, when I do this my computer's fan runs extremely hard, and it heats up quite a bit.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

None.
I order you to forgive yourself!
Not sure if I'm crazy, but I feel like it makes the game lag less for some reason.
So, the video and the description didn't make sense.
In the video the game name was just asgasdgasdgsdg and the map name didn't have the code at the end.
Where exactly am I typing in this code?
On the .SCX file?
Map Description?
When hosting the game?

Watch it again. He first shows it normally and then with the game name asgasdgasdgsdg#x2
Also to do it on lan create a user with #x2 at the end of the name to host the game.

Awesome, thank you. I can't believe I missed that. So, do I need to put the #x2 right after the name or do I put a space between?
Test #x2 or Test#x2

While this is really fun, it seems like kind of a silly thing to add ... why not make it part of the map name so that maps can specifically have it, or just add it to the game speed slider since that is effectively how it is used?

I've used this a bunch before. I always assumed it was a feature of mcalauncher. Are you guys saying it's native to broodwar?

No idea, but I'm not using mcalauncher and it's working. Maybe it was part of the game all this time?

It is not present in 1.16.1.

probably they don't want to officially support it (yet)
It's useful for defense maps, especially if everybody is on the same page for it or if there's a manual start-wave trigger.
