Wow the whole time I'm watching this movie I'm just thinking in the back of my head "omgomgomg". This movie was incredible, like Dark Knight incredible. Already got 97% on RottenTomato, too.
It had a really good mix of comedy and action, I mean, the comedy was REALLY funny too. Like, I laughed harder in this movie than I have done in like 90% of comedies. Joss Whedon is a fuckin mastermind, but hey, we already knew that!
They did a really good job at having all the heroes play their parts too, no one felt redundant or unnecessary. I was really worried about how the Black Widow / Hawkeye characters would mesh with all the other superheroes, especially since everyone else (minus Captain America) can all fly. (OK, the Hulk can't really 'fly' but he can jump... really really high.) But it all gelled together brilliantly. And then there was Loki, OMG the best villain of all time. With a awesome arsenal of superpowers (his silver tongue was by far a joy to listen to).
Also the future films and sequels and further collaboration opportunities are incredible. (Does anyone know if the Amazing Spiderman upcoming film will be able to feature in Avengers 2? Or is there too much legal red tape there?)
If this isn't on your must watch list, make it so, right now!

So fucking hilarious when Loki is all like, "you brute, I am a God yaryaryar" and Hulk just cuts him off and throws him all over the room.
The flying fortress that shield uses is so fucking epic, especially when they all have to defend it from evil Hawkeye.
Thanos will be the next villain according to the end credits scene?
Getting to watch the avengers work together was awesome, but what was also awesome was getting to see the avengers fight each other! Iron Man vs Thor was fucking EPIC. Then when Thor smashes his hammer on Cpt America's shield and flattens an entire forest? OMGWTFBBQ
Tony Stark aka Tony Snark that guys cynical smart-assed attitude was so fun to watch the other superheroes react too. Also thought it was cool how Bruce and Tony were like instant buddies.
Phil Coulston and his fanboy crush on Cpt America was pretty funny to watch. His sacrifice was kinda obvious though. It was like at that point in the movie where someone has to 'die' and yeh, of course it was gonna be him.
I was disappointed that there wasn't really a main boss that all avengers had to team up to destroy, they just all waded through heaps of weaker guys. Loki wasn't really that strong he was more about being cunning and intelligent. In the end, he was the Hulk's bitch. Loki and Thor had a pretty cool, evenly matched battle though.
Hawkeye was ungodly accurate with that bow.
