Wait, shit, I just had an epiphany:

If Azrael was, in reality, a mafia member, and he knew that the boondock saint was AFK and thus not available to counterclaim (a good amount of time passed before Azrael actually volunteered to reveal his role), he would be more than capable of impersonating the boondock saint, in terms of in-game powers. Executing a fellow mafia member would almost certainly persuade the townies to put nearly infallible trust towards his identity, allowing him to use mayoral persuasion to discourage protection and jailing of his particular target.

Assuming the two mafia dons cooperated and released the names of their members to each other, it is very likely that Cardinal and Tikels happen to be the two mafia members belonging to the affiliation not associated with Azrael.Wrath. This ensures a complete wipeout of the opposing family and leaves the other family with two functional mafioso, one of which has a guaranteed night hit and is invulnerable.

Of course, that is the worst case scenario here. Let's hope that isn't true.

Azrael revealed his role to me prior to being elected. He also told me early into the election process that he gave his role out to a select few and the voting changes that resulted afterward. This would not be enough time to determine if the Boondock was afk, and if this was your only reasoning, I would say Azrael is legitimately the Boondock Saint.

The only explanation for Azrael being mafia is if he had taken a gamble on whether the Boondock was afk, or that the people he shared his role with weren't the Boondock Saint and that he could stifle the truth. This risk is ridiculous and if the Boondock isn't afk, he would have shared his role with a player he trusts.

The don only has a one-time hit.

This is valid under the impression that Azrael is a mafioso.

Assume the two mafia families looked like this, and that the two families agreed to cooperate, releasing their identities to one another.

Cardinal ---------------------- Mafioso 1
TiKels --------------------- Azrael.Wrath

After the mayoral killing, we have:

xAngelSpiritx ------------------- LoTu)S
Cardinal ---------------------- Mafioso 1

Azrael decreeing the doctors and policeman to leave TiKels alone guarantees that he will be able to get a hit in on TiKels, killing him. This leaves the two mafia families in this state by the start of Day 2:

xAngelSpiritx ------------------- LoTu)S
Cardinal ---------------------- Mafioso 1
TiKels --------------------- Azrael.Wrath

Because Azrael.Wrath is now Mayor, he cannot be killed at night. Assuming the Boondock saint is AFK and that TiKels does not kill Mafioso 1 (due to doctor/policeman protecting said mafioso by chance), the mafia families are down to 1v3, with xAngelSpiritx only having one hit and no longer invulnerable. That is, assuming all of this is true. Now that Azrael knows the identity of his bodyguards, he can avoid killing them, thus allowing his invulnerability to last forever. Mafioso 1 only needs to use his hit once every day until he is killed by the Zombie, after which point Azrael.Wrath is guaranteed victory, assuming Boondock saint remains AFK.

(This would be a brilliant plan if it was true, god damn. But your mention of the high risks made me reconsider whether or not this is possible. Stop ruining my illusions of Azrael being a mastermind, Roy )

It wasn't imbalanced to begin with.
There were 4 mafia able to kill. Getting rid of one, whatever the affiliation, makes it terribly one-sided for the town. The only chance that the mafia has is if TiKels isn't mafia, and the cultists get other boondocks or policemen. If there are other boondocks.

The act of role claiming is one of the integral parts of Mafia.

It didn't take the fun out of the game when you and I had the same role and you had a hard time believing that such a thing was possible.

Oh, yes, because that isn't in the OP, where the rules are, and is rather in the shoutbox, where EVERYONE looks for information on a particular anything. Because looking in the OP for a complete list of rules is so mainstream.

Screenshots & videos, was fine until I apparently sent it to a mafia that cried to mommy devilesk, who edited videos into the OP so he could ban me.

It's common sense.

If it's not written down in with the rest of the rules, then I take it that it's not against the rules. You guys are arguing for the spirit of the law, rather than the letter. Following the spirit of the law can get you thrown in jail, I'd be careful about that in real life.
