That would require Kame to have StarCraft. Or know how to make a map in general.

She doesn't even have SC?! Why did she subscribe in here then?

@People: should we set an hour of "higher affluence" for people to meet and test/discuss? I'd say 7 PM. :)

No, not op SEN. All of your lovers dwell there and it's a horrible environment just to chat in because it's filled with, "Lol raped noob 1v1. I'm the king of TS."

Just go to some other channel.

Na, "Channel o".
And someone has to set a Bot that says "Welcome to o!" to anyone entering.
This would be a very nice gift for me, and inferno as well I guess. :3

An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

Quote from Apos
Here is my suggestion:
  • Make a 1 hour contest ever week.
  • The first week, you make a map for 1 hour.
  • All the following weeks, everyone exchange their maps and you work on someone else's map.
  • Then, you see how each map evolves from weeks to weeks.
I have a different suggestion:
  • Make a contest segment every week.
  • At the end of each week, you swap your map and receive someone else's
  • The first week, you make the terrain for the map.
  • The second week, you make the preplaced units and locations for the map.
  • The third week, you make the triggers for the map.
  • Then, you see the result of how your terrain/units/locations influenced the maps' developments, as well as what you can do with triggers on a map where you cannot alter the terrain/units/locations.

The winners would be determined by who worked on the favorite map (they would all receive equal payout as to promote doing your best for each map you work on).

Would the switching be randomly determined? I like this idea as long as people don't disappear during the contest.

Yeah, probably something like Random.org would determine the swaps (going in a chain would be unfair, I think). And if people disappear, we can have new people who want to participate fill their spots. On the other side, if someone disappears so they can't give their map to the next person, I guess we would allow that next person to do both the prior week and their week (but that would give them a huge advantage).

Hmm yeah. Plus I imagine it would be difficult to determine who disappears ahead of time if someone just doesn't do anything by the deadline.

Maybe I'll fine minerals from anyone who participates and just lazily forgets to work on their map.

@Map List
Temple Siege only comes up three times :blush: .. And the list could've been updated by anybody I've added to my bot back then. Thus the i like men and poo poo head quotes
You'll also notice two Alpha Marines ;)
Unfortunately.. the new stealthbot doesn't seem to have a way for me to add commands...

@Roy's idea
I think we should go with just making maps by ourselves for now.
The most we should do now is make it so that all the maps submitted are open source, so people can use it if they think the map has real potential.

@Devlin
Negative reinforcement won't work :C

Perhaps it would if I replace "fine minerals from anyone" with "ban." :lol:

The reason I like the map switching idea over everyone making their own map is because it is something different and allows us to get a lot of people involved. Otherwise it seems like it would be the same as any other month or week-long contest we host that people say they'll participate in and forget about.

Or it would just totally fuck the contest because people wouldn't be motivated enough to work on someone elses map.

Of course it will. People will think twice before entering, so we only get serious applicants.

And everyone must livestream as they work.

May 6 2011, 6:31 pm CecilSunkure Post #60

I have an idea. How about we have a "base map" like the skeleton framework for a fun say 2v2 game or something. Then, everyone receives a copy of the base map, and the goal of the contest is to expound upon it and make as fun of a variant as possible. Contestants will have say 10 minutes to look over the triggers, then an hour to develop. Does this sound fun?

The frame map could be a 2v2 game, or maybe a 2 player defense game, whatever we decide.
