I. Introduction:

Hello, I'm new here. This is my first public mod and my entry to the Modding Contest.
Basically, the story is about two factions, the United Earth Empire and the Red Scorpion Army. The UEE is the united government of all the planet, ruled by one council of world leaders. Their plan of galactic conquest drove them to take over the moon, as a militarized civilian colony, and Mars, as a prison planet. Some years passed, and they lost contact with them. In about some years later (to define), Earth Empire tries to retake Mars, but the Separatist Red Scorpion Army resists to lost their power to the Earth. The First Human Galactic War has started. Which side will you join?

II. Gameplay:

Eternal Duel is a fleet based mod, you will command Starbases, Vessel Factories, Cruiser Factories, while managing the First Human Galactic War in the Earth, the Moon, Mars, or in the middle of space.

it will feature: High Class Minerals, that give you 2x minerals (Vespene Gas doesn't exist), 2 types of supply: Supplies and Power, Superweapons system, the "Neutral Encampment", it can choose its side, and use ground troops, and more to come...

III. Screenshots:

Earth Warlord Cruisers, using their Cloaking Reactors, raiding on a rebel encampment.

Red Scorpion Nightmare Battleships, eradicating a F-221 Hunter Squad.

More to add soon...

If you have any thought about this, reply. I want to know what people think about this.

(If someone knows about a better terrain editor than TileEdit, make me know.)

Good to see a new face around here. I like what you've done so far. The minerals look especially cool.

There is a tile editor in beta, but you'll have to ask Farty for it.
Oh-oh-oh, Come on now
Let's lock the world outside
Oh-oh-oh, Come on I tell you now
She's goin' up tonight

Well there'll be smilin', there'll be laughin'
Well that's good enough for me
There'll be dancing all around you
This is where you want to be

Hey, me and Aofst arent the only ones active anymore!

Looks nice, keep up the work.

What else are you adding in? Or is it just going to be traditional starcraft melee style gameplay?

I was planning a campaign for it, but I'll make it for a later version. Playing with Hero units was also planned, but I'm not very sure about this.

Until the moment, it won't have AI, multiplayer only.

I honestly haven't really seen any mods with campaigns :P Though, for a mod like this, it would actually be pretty cool.
And now a-days, 80% of all mods are MP only, with no AI.

Random question: Are those shiny minerals animated? That would be really awesome if they glowed. :P

I don't think Im going to finish my mod. I've had no progress for a couple weeks...

EDIT:

This looks really good. I can't wait to test it.

I started some weeks before Modding Contest started, about two or three. When it started, it said that people couldn't post mods already in the works, so I waited like three weeks. Then, I forgot it and stopped working on it for some time. I got a bit lazy.

Hay Killer_Kow, if you were talking about when I started modding, in general, it was about 2003 but that time mods were just Dat edits, StarDraft, child memories (I was 11). I really started modding last year, I made some projects I never finished (and I'll never finish). I used to visit SEN and Maplantis, too. This Contest is my opportunity to test myself.

EDIT:

By the way, does any of you know how to get the new tile editor, I need it to finish some things.

You sir, are a god. You had better make those open source when the SMC is over! OR ELSE!

Not sure. I asked Farty for it a while ago, but he never replied. Best idea is to ask him first, then, if he doesn't reply, bug someone else, like, Flyinghat who happens to have their hands on it.

Yeah, that's what I meant. And I'll point Farty your way some time if I see him around.

What features do you need? A few things in it are still a bit shaky.

Well, I was thinking about recoloring entirely a tileset. The actual TileEdit can't replace tiles.

Entire palette recoloring can be done by changing the palette.

My TileEdit has replace tiles, but I made a very basic algorithm so things in other groups that use the same minitiles get a bit messed up. If you are recoloring with a method other than palette, this shouldn't be a problem (unless I temporarily removed the replace feature. :P ) Also if you're doing mass editing, you're going to love the batch export feature. I hadn't thought of exporting a massive image when I made it, but that may be for when I become again motivated and add it. :P

Here, have some pictures:

Its not that bad, however. The shadows are just odd.
