Gifts
I don't think I've ever gotten an actual gift for vday beyond the typical flower. I do pressure my boyfriend every year into making me something - even just a card - because I like that type of stuff. But that's not for everyone. (Though many women would appreciate a poem or a song if you are so inclined to spend time on it). Other ideas/cautions...
Chocolate - this could end with amazing results or it might backfire entirely on you. It might backfire because they can't eat chocolate - diabetic, diet, whatever. It might also backfire because you got them cherry cordials and they think that shit is nasty. So...here's a few steps to avoid that. The most obvious one is ask their friends what they like or if there is any issues. If you do that, then your lady will probably be told your plans, taking away the element of surprise. If you know family (brothers, parents) ask them. Hell, just call their mom up and ask what type of candy she likes. PROBLEM SOLVED. Or if she doesn't like chocolate, you could always bring cookies. Or make cookies. Daww
Flowers - you can't go wrong with flowers. Usually. Unless they're allergic. Or if they're like one of my friends, who hates live flowers unless they're potted because they die too fast. Roses are usually a good call. If this is more of a friends thing you could do the cliche carnations, or you could get a bouquet of flowers you chose yourself. Usually most flower shops will help you choose what looks best/what is in your budget, otherwise look here and choose your favorite types, go to your local floral and tell them what you want. Calla Lilies are usually in stock, as are cosmos and similar daisy like flowers. There's a lot of colors, too - so if you know her favorite color, you might see what you can find in that color. A caution: I always found it a bad idea to get flowers from the grocery store. If you get the premade bouquets, the flowers are usually wilted (you can tell by petal scarring and browning on the top), or you can tell exactly where it comes from because the idiots there have the price tag stuck to the plastic surrounding it. If you have no choice, you can pull off some of the wilted petals to give the bouquet new life.
Other gifts - I guess its a big thing to give jewelry. I never got it or wanted it, but that's mostly because I don't really wear jewelry. If you give jewelry, be sure you know if your womenz have any metal intolerance. If you're not sure, just stick to sterling silver. There are a ton of choices out there. I'd stay away from department store jewelry unless you find something you just got to have, because they are usually overpriced in my opinion. However, if you are looking, check out...like I told MZ before...Etsy. Here is a simple search. What else do you guys give womenz for vday anyways?
Uh I gotta go to class. So kay go.
