(although I think the Mafia has a bit too much killing power)
That's an interesting opinion. In a basic game of Mafia, every Mafia role is a killing power. Keep in mind that it's rather unlikely that all of them will be in play.
Well, the Framer can potentially score a kill if his target is investigated - and it could be easy to identify who is most likely to be investigated (through role-claims or suspicious behaviour).
The Witch can just as equally have potential to kill a target provided they are visited.
And there will always be a hitman who is able to knock out anyone he or she so pleases - provided they do not dodge/or are protected.
The witch & the hitman can easily collaborate to almost guarantee a hit each and every night.

I don't know - but I do like it.
You should see Roy's first Mafia game with these roles. It didn't seem too bad then. I think it'll be fine again this time.

Don't forget to get a non-default avatar, or else you may get the dead bodies role.

I didn't see the 'Comedian' role, Roy. :disgust:

I'll play if there are (not including Townie and Mafia) no more than 1/5th as many roles as players.

Why would that matter? He doesn't reveal roles upon death.

So for a 20 players round, you'd only play if there are 4 roles? :|

That's probably not going to happen. The reason I include so many roles is due to the setup of my game (whereas others that try to employ several roles run into issues). I'll keep you off the list, but thanks for showing interest. You should wait for someone to host another "Classic Mafia" game like Leeroy did a while ago.

OBSCURE RULE TIME!

Quote
Changes the role of one mafia member to Hitman, including himself.
Does that mean that the Godfather becomes a hitman IN ADDITION to his target, or merely that the godfather himself is a valid target for this ability?

I would assume it means that the Godfather is a valid target, since it gives players additional strategy, which seems to be one of Roy's focuses. In the case the Godfather is able to use it, he has the option of removing a Mafia power role or the Mafia's ability to create more Hitmen. In most instances, he will choose the former, but there are situations in which he may want to keep the remaining Mafia powers and give up his own.

I don't believe that to be obscure at all. It clearly says "one mafia member"; if he changed someone and himself, that would be a total of two, which is not allowed.

If you were asking if he loses his other abilities when he uses it on himself: yes, he does. Detectives will find him guilty and he can no longer promote other members.

Promote can be used so that mafia continue to have night hits, even if only the Godfather, Lawyer, Framer and Hooker were alive, because the Godfather can turn one of them into a Hitman.

I'm going to put the sign-up deadline to be Sunday 22:00 EDT. At that point, I'll send out activity checks.

That can be read the same way. I guess I can be ridiculously verbose, though.

To me that makes it sound like he changes the mafia member AND himself to Hitman.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value
[05:01 am]
Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort

Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
