The Queen of Blades is gone. On the hellish planet Char, Jim Raynor harnessed the power of an ancient Xel’Naga artifact in a desperate bid to stop the Zerg Swarm from overrunning the Koprulu sector, and the artifact restored Sarah Kerrigan to her human form. Without their queen to guide and unify them, the Swarm has fractured into several broods scattered throughout the Koprulu sector. One of the greatest threats to the galaxy has been neutralized... or so it seems.
On March 12, 2013, the release of StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm will answer many questions for players around the world, but many more questions remain.
Sarah Kerrigan is on the loose. Even without the terrible powers of the Queen of Blades or the might of the Swarm at her command, the former Ghost remains a foe not to be taken lightly. But if the artifact really did set her free, then why is Kerrigan seeking out Zerg broods scattered throughout the Koprulu sector? Is she still pursuing her quest for vengeance, or has her transformation given Kerrigan a new purpose?
We are pleased to present the opening cinematic for StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm in full HD glory. Whether you ultimately choose to play as Protoss, Terran, or Zerg, you simply must ask yourself one question:
Update: Also, check out Teamliquid's HotS preview about the campaign from a press event including an interview with Dustin Browder. You can see it here.

Posted on Facebook by Blizzard, I think it is more than just a leak.
Tuxlar is talking about the supposed leaked pre-vis from a year or two ago.
As far as I know (from my friends who do cinematics at Blizzard) they do all that stuff in-house, so I still don't think that was a legit video in the first place.

Oh god yes.
Say what you will about Blizzard's games. No one can question the supremacy of their cinematics team! If Blizzard had the balls to move into the movie business I'm confident they would give Pixar a run for their money!!
Not gonna lie... That was pretty sexy. I really liked the hydraulics thing on the siege tank. I'll definitely be sure to pirate buy the game and play the campaign.
The problem with Blizzard's cinematics is the same problem that James Cameron's AVATAR movie had: there's nothing but shitty writing behind it.
That and Blizzard doesn't know what choreography is, and are basically just lumping shit together - like all film companies do these days, mind you - in an effort to be edgy and cool. Film grain, lens flares, camera shaking, slow-motion... It's tiring and, let's face it: not only have you seen this a thousand times before, you've probably seen it done better. Regardless of whether or not this cinematic uses any of those tired and tiring effects, the fact remains that SCII in general uses such devices when it could have presented itself much, much more professionally.
In short, boring. Wouldn't bother with the game based on this cinematic.

"Vengeance shall be mine." So cliché I gagged. You're right about that.
And am I the only one who thinks Tricia Helfer is totally deadpan no-talent voice actor? I think she only got the job because of the nerdgasm from her battlestar galactica days. As I have never seen that TV show I think I am not blinded by rose tinted glasses and realise that her VO work is crappy.
Bring back the SC1 Kerrigan! OK well it's too late now but seriously that girl had talent.
Their cutscenes division is still competent but with Metzen&co at the controls I can't get too excited about what they produce. I actually wonder who does the storyboards and the script, could probably check some credits to find out.

So... why does that Viking land in front of the Ultralisk?
Blizzard's cinematics team deserves better than the developer and its products. They should just go into movie-making business. This, and the not-so-recent Pandora cinematics are spectacular!
Yet, remember everyone. Through all the hype, speculation, and flashy explosions, Starcraft 2 and Blizzard as a whole has wronged us in many ways. Don't get carried away by the hype, lest you want to be disappointed again. Also, $60 expansion is ludicrous, no amount of cinematics will help that - not to mention that in WoL, there were less than a handful of cinematics in the game that are actually this well done. !!This does not represent the game in any way!!

The voice filters they put over the voice is a little irking to me, but I don't attribute that to her voice acting ability. I'm no voice expert, though.

I wasn't disappointed with Wings of Liberty. I'm much happier that they continued the series versus ending it with Brood War. Yes, there were things they could have done better (same could be said for anything), and yes, they didn't write the story exactly how you wanted it to go (but where's the fun in hearing a story for the first time if you know exactly what's going to happen?), but overall there was a team of writers, developers, quality assurance, and all the other components that go into game development that came together and said, "Hey, we have a large, dedicated fan base that wants a sequel to their beloved game; let's do our best to make it happen."
Of course they won't hit all the right notes, but I think they did a great job overall. You're free to disagree based on X, Y, and Z, but we've had this conversation before.
Why did they go with someone else, does anyone know? From what I can tell, Glynnis was willing to play the part, but Blizzard instead had auditions and turned hers down? That's a little depressing.
Yeah I'm not a big fan of Westernhagen either, Fanta vier much better! But they didn't drop the lyrics that fit the situation. Farty: Ich bin wieder hier; nobody: in meinem Revier; Me: war nie wirklich weg
