How Roy would provide a clue without having distributed the roles is beyond me
That's because he wouldn't... It's just a goddamn activity check and Roy had fun with flavor text.
Then why is my activity check so different to Observer's?

None.

Kindly post it, if it is actually different=)

I'd rather keep it to myself. It might be important.

If you're not mafia, and your message is different from most other people, why are you hiding it?

Maybe Roy made a pass at him. :teach:

Oct 26 2012, 11:58 pm Lanthanide Post #130

Because I don't know why Roy gave me a different message, so I don't want to post it in the thread incase there was some actual reason behind it or if he just did it randomly. Maybe it has nothing to do with my role at all, I don't know,

Roy, why is Lanthanide's activity check supposedly different from others?

An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

Introduction

Let me tell you a story - stop me if you've heard it already.

Way back, this town used to be run by a crude bunch. Went by the name Mafia, though they were hardly deserving to be called by any respectable name. They established a wonderful bureaucracy, wonder being a subjective term, and forced litigation down the throats of all inhabitants. Roads had speed limits, littering would get you a fine, and you needed a license to own a firearm. Yes, it's true: this place used to be hell. They were ruthless, and would give the death penalty indiscriminately to criminals, and when there was someone they didn't like, they'd find a way to make him a criminal.

Max was his name. Max was a simple man. He didn't want to get involved in politics; he just wanted to provide for his family. Max and his family worked as gardeners - farmers, if you will - who made a comfortable living by growing crops. Crop. Plants, rather. That's not the point.

Max, along with his wife Ellen and 8-year-old daughter Grace, lived just on the edge of town. Every Sunday, Max would take his produce to the Town Square; yes, this very Square, indeed! People loved his merchandise, and he was contributing to society in a beneficial manner. Yes, he eventually became the sensation of the town, and everyone loved him. Well, almost everyone. There was one thing that wasn't too fond of Max: the Bureau.

No, not a dresser, you clod! Uncle Sam. The government. Big Brother. Call it what you will. An official approached poor Max one day to see his product. Max offered the product at the standard price, but the official wasn't in the mood for spending money. "I hereby request a sample to be inspected by the Food and Drug Administration," he declared.

You see, this administration called the FDA was some group created to make sure that things were safe for consumption. I know what you're thinking: "Why would people buy it in the first place if it wasn't safe to eat?" There's a reason this pointless organization doesn't exist today, you know; they just didn't understand the free market back then. Max, being the poor, innocent man he was, gladly gave up a sample with a warm smile.

Fast forward two weeks. It's Sunday morning. Max is on his way to the Square when he is suddenly stopped by the local law enforcement. Without explanation, the officer cuffed young Max and hauled him off to the Square. "I was headed this way, anyway," Max said lightheartedly to the officer, who only returned a cold glance. The Square was different this time, though; Max saw what appeared to be a large stage in the center. This was not a stage of course.

Yes! You're right. I am indeed referring to the gallows. Well, you should have figured that, being in the situation you're in, anyway. Only in this story, there were two more nooses, one slightly longer than the other two so that it could be low enough to be fitted on Gr... Oh, come now, you don't want me to finish the story?

It was a cool, crisp morning when the body was sighted.

Many people had suspected the man to be colluding with the mafia, while others proclaimed his innocence. It was clear that this death was indicative of violent times, perhaps more violent than the revolution several centuries ago. The town had been abandoned for the most part, due partly to the late man's horrible guidance and mostly to the increase in violence.

It seemed like only yesterday that the town was being renamed, perhaps because it was. Members of the town submitted their ideas of a new town name via postage, one of which was then drawn from a hat in a raffle-like fashion. A suitable new start to a new town: with the mayor dead, what remained of the townsfolk of Shouldabout agreed that the new form of government shall be a true democracy. The plan was still the same as the mayor had decided: pick the villians and execute them.

Though there was one group that didn't like the idea of being outvoted, who wished to reclaim the power of their ancestors. To return to a bureaucracy, they just needed to eliminate the competition...

Night 1 begins. Send your actions by Sunday, October 28 11:59 PM Eastern.
