K I like the DS then. Why? -The touch screen is nice -Music/video (my brother has a season of Family Guy on a DS cartridge) -Mics -Wi-Fi, and ability to play against people all over the world -Internet Browsers -Internet Radio -Operating system+emulators (and you can't play DS games [properly] on a PSP due to lack of touchscreen *rollseyes*) -D-Pad and stylus -Game cartridges, they are far less easily scratched and are generally tougher -More than enough titles -Cartridges designed specifically for the DS ... I think you get the point. |

I love the people who're like "LOL PSP BTR GRPHX LOL" while failing to realise that they're both only capable of outputting the graphical equivalent of early N64 games. The DS normally has to use it's single processor to render to two separate screens, so it normally takes a performance hit. It can render in 3D just as well as PSP.

Yeah.
But it doesn't matter what something can do, if it doesn't do it. I can quite easily murder several people in a night, it doesn't matter if i don't do it though. [hurrah for EXTREEEEEEEME metaphorz] |

It does do it though. These people are thinking games like Yoshi Touch & Go are benchmarks. |

I disagree, the psp has seemed to me alot more capable then the DS graphics wise. Not that graphics makes a game, but its stillnice to see. and personally, i think that the psp outdid the n64 graphics by a long run.

Although, DS has a better quality pair of screens, they don't suffer from the bug with black. [it leaves a sort of trail] and the contrast is real good.
On the other hand, my PSP has smaller pixels than ym computer screen, so it looks sexy. |

Did you not read what Syphon said? The DS has to use it's single processor to render both screens. That sentence conflicts with its self. You claim the graphics don't make a game, but you still like that it does. WTF. Ever heard the saying, "better graphics, doesn't make a better game or game system." |

I was very vague with my statement by the way, i didnt mean its nice to see the game being made by the graphics. you interpreted it wrong, and i didnt project it clearly. my bad. i think that the side scroller mario is still one of the best games on the face of the planet. Graphics do not make a game, i never said that they did. But it is nice to have a game that is good with good graphics on the side. such as... halo3. cod4. wow. bioshock. im not saying they are good because they look good, they are good, and having it look nice is a plus. i like mario kart. i think that the n64 was better then the psp, but the psp simply out does the graphics. i would prefer an n64 in my hands rather then a psp. i loved mario 64, and pokemon stadium, and diddy kong racing (my favorite )...

Remember the game! P.s.: Feldspar.

Hmm. Screens generally have their own drivers, so unless you are constantly updating both there shouldn't be much of a "performance hit". If you make the game right you can make each screen read the same buffer... then all your screen updating routine'd have to do is push the first half of the buffer into the top and the second into the bottom... oooh. not that big of a hit (even if it rendered 3D.) Think of this: with a processor running at 6mHz I can update a screen many times (fast enough to make adequate greyscale on a monochrome screen with a slow driver) when the routine is in an interrupt that runs about every 140Hz. It does not take much to update a screen, even with a slow processor. Also Wiki says DS has two processors... 67MHz and 33Hz. I could do much with that. >.>
And Wiki says that it has hardware limitations on screens or something... Doesn't the top generally display stats, maps, and information anyway? What do you really need on the screen(s) that is so intense on the processor at the same time? what the hell? PSP stats says "clocked from 1 to 333 MHz" how does that work? >.> Hmm. This is a tough choice for me. I have only played a couple DS games and never played a PSP game... Media storage is a plus for PSP, though. All my friends have a DS, which is a plus for that (and multiplay Tetris)... I wouldn't be willing to pay for either, though.

DS is cheaper, has everything the PSP has, and more, and it's extremely sexy. Who cares about graphics unless the bad graphics are ruining gameplay, which they aren't.

The DS is the only console that has two screens, thus making it unique. Two screens generally offers you gameplay that's different than other single screen consoles.
