Hey guys im looking for a utility that lets you import a picture file, like .png, and then makes the terrain based on it. I've seen this in a few maps, where looking at the minimap shows how obvious it came from a photo or picture, but idk which utility does that.
This sure would make it easier to build world maps. I could just import a picture of the world map instead of slaving over drawing it.
i have SCMdraft2 and windows 7 64 bit, if that makes a difference.
None.

thanks i just tried to try it but my Avira says the exe file has a trojan.
Is there another?
None.

Not saying he is but you know how the net is. Someone else can come along and hack/modify the exe even as it sits on the fileserver. In fact you don't even hafta get into the fileserver, just intercept packets and inject something into your download.
Anyway, I'm trying to grab ahold of that exe before avira snatches it, so i can upload it to virus total.com and see how many AVs flag it.
None.
There is no virus. Trust us.

You can also use SCPM, but it is an interior product. And made by a more sketchy dude.
Run the executable in a sandbox if you don't trust it. I suspect you have a sandbox already configured for these kinds of scenarios, given your skepticism toward an application created by a trusted community member hosted on his own site.
It's also hosted on this site:

hey comon now dont take it as an attack on someone, my attitude is more like u cant be too careful these days with viruses. most viruses get tagged onto something else by someone other than the original author, right? better to announce if a exe u just DLed got flagged by your AV, rather than keep quiet about it. false positives are nothing new to me and i always go through the motions with them.
i got it working, thank goodness, despite the initial .ocx registry error on my lame operating system known as windows. the program does what it says it should do, but now im mucking around with colors because what i really want is just plain dirt drawn from one color, and plain water drawn from another. so far i can get water, but all the brown colors keep coming up as some kinda corner sprite from the outpost/cliff or something.
i seem to remember some editor having a bucket fill option for terrain, but can't find it in SCMdraft2. was it maybe Star Forge? The bucket fill would be great cuz i could just use black for ground, which would come up as empty space on the map, which i could then just fill with dirt using the terrain bucket fill thing. Does anyone know what editor has this ability?
None.

The closest I can think to that feature is Starforge's custom palettes, which allows you to design a specific shape, but that's hardly a fill tool.
I submitted a feature request for ScmDraft to replace a tile with a different one a long time ago, but it never happened. I wouldn't be surprised if someone has made a one-off program to do this, but I can't find anything in the DLDB.
It'd probably be fastest if you just made the modifications manually.
