Hey. Guys I'm wondering if you can make it Fog of War for current play at a specific location even though there is unit owned by player at that location ?

Possible ? THX in advance

Yes, its possible but difficult. What you do is use the Turn Off Shared Vision AI script to turn a player's vision off with himself, and have his vision be controlled by another player that he has vision with. You'll need a spare computer player to do this right.

Once you have that system setup, you simply remove/give away the computer unit which is providing vision where you want it turned off.

Find Me On Discord (Brood War UMS Community & Staredit Network)

If the locations you want to keep visioned are static, you can preplace Map Revealers for another player. Then, when you want to remove vision of that one place, you disable Shared Vision like Vrael said, and then get vision from the player owning the Map Revealers.

As you probably guessed by the answers there's no direct way to force fog of war at a specific location.

Hmmm that sure sounds difficult to me. Well I just got an idea on how to detect and ban hacker for UMS map by making scv, done or probe at specific location and make mineral field and its cc nearby, most ums hacker will forget to turn off the auto mineral so lets say if an scv move to the location where the mineral located, display Player X has been detected using hack. then End scenario with defeat for him. Hows dat sound ? :D Its not really necessary to turn off vision though but just to avoid the hacker to know how did he get detected :(

Most hacks have stay-alive built into them. I would try to desync the hacker so he can't harass/drop other players.

Give the CC and workers to another player shortly after map start. You can still detect the worker movement, but he won't even get vision if I remember correctly.
Or, if I'm mistaken and it gives vision of the cc right away then just reveal the whole map. If you haven't centered vision on the CC at map start he won't notice it was his for a brief moment.

Btw. fog of war doesn't exist for hackers anyway...

NudeRaider -- PSA: ASUS apparently decided their RMA department needs to "become profitable" and for a while now outright tries to scam customers. They were called out on it a year ago, promised to change, but didn't. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pMrssIrKcY so my recommendation: Stop buying ASUS, and if you already have and need something RMA'd, make sure to not let them bully you into paying.
