Being the rugged, ridiculously good looking and macho man you are, you wholeheartedly agreed to go backpacking with friends in the Colorado Rocky Mountains from September 11th through the 15th. You aren't sure of the exact location, since you are coming from Michigan, but your three friends are locals and were nice enough to give you a map to the cabin you'll be meeting at and using as a "base." You'll not only be meeting there, but the fallback plan is to hang out there if the weather turns or if there is a reason to turn back, such as an injury.

Anyways the fact that all of you chose your screen names reeks of narcissism, and I will have none of that on my SEN! So choose a real name. Otherwise, your name is Gary. Props to Apos for being the most creative though. I mean, the idea behind an RPG is to be someone you're not, and not necessarily a person you want to be. Flaws, such as age or even something more direct...such as incredible emotional trauma due to a boyfriend breaking up with you over an honest comment, sometimes makes the story more interesting in the long run.

We'll get started tonight. I want to get a few more responses in, just to see who else is interested. The first post will include an introduction of your character, as well as the ground rules, and any traits/weaknesses you gain from the character profile chosen.

How were we supposed to know that we are not supposed to use our SEN usernames, and for that matter, you never specified whether we should respond with our personal profile or a fictional one. An implicit general norm of forum games is that you always sign up with your username and will be referred to as such, so I see no reason why signing up using your own username is narcissistic.

You never provided any guideline for signing up. A vague form was provided, and the obvious thing to do would be to fill it out using actual information, rather than spending time to create a fictional data set. In fact:

Okay, first off, calm down. Second off, per request, let me spell this out for you guys.

If you guys want, I will restructure it so that the group of you get lost together. However, if not enough people want this, I instead will choose the best stats for the game, and there will be one character that everyone shares control of. (Much like Will's Temple of Whatever). I didn't give much guidance because I plan on things like age, likes and dislikes to constitute certain traits that will later be handy or restrictive. For example, Roy, you're in America, so the metric system won't help you here. BAHAHAHA! And of course, there are some things you won't be able to help no matter what, such as illness. >:}

Over the next hour or so, the game will start. I will have some dialogue, an interesting little blurb about you and what's going on, and at the end of the turn there will be a call to action. This may be as simple as "what do you do now?" or it may be more like, "do we go with so-and-so's idea, or the-other-person's-idea? Or do you have a better idea altogether?" First one to respond chooses the direction of the game.

Originally, you were going to be traveling with NPCs, made up by me, and as such will react in the way I deem. If you'd rather play as a group, game play will be much slower, as well as there is always the chance that people will try to god mod situations, or will lack the creativity necessary to get the job done. But it can be fun, too, so you know...whatever.

Contrary to what people may think, I'm rather flexible. Just let me know which game play you want to do within the next hour: do you want it to be one main character, or would you all like to be in a group?
