Night 2

The sun set once again the small quaint town of Tokyo. Gossip and rumors were spoken among the innocent townspeople, as several unidentified bodies had shown up just a night a go in their quiet town. Many people began to fear for their lives, and began hiding in their houses as soon as the night fell. They were scared for good reason though, for a war had erupted among them, and the causalities and stakes would only get higher as the ninjas dwindled in numbers.

A ninja sat quietly in a apple tree, sharpening his Kusarigama. He quietly contemplated the man he had murdered the night before, imagining how we had easily killed him. He laughed to himself, but he then remembered the other Ninja that had severely wounded him with ninja stars, the very thought of seeing him again despised him. But he wanted his revenge...he needed his revenge. With his weapons in tow, he jumped down from the tree to only be confronted by a ninja. Quickly gazing at him, the ninja realized that this was the same ninja he had met the night before.

"So it's you." The first ninja laughed.
"So it is. I've come to kill you." The other ninja replied cheekily.
"What a coincidence, I was just about to kill you instead."

The first ninja grabbed his Kusarigama, and rushed at his opponent. The ranged ninja quickly responded by throwing three ninja stars at his opponent, but they were easily deflected by the spinning chain of the Kusarigama. The K-ninja threw his chain with all his might, but the blow was easily side-stepped by the ranged ninja. The ranged assassin quickly began running to create more distance between the two, and unleashed another flurry of ninja stars at his opponent. The melee ninja easily deflected the stars once again, and quickly closed the gap.

He once again threw his chain at his opponent, managing to catch his feet. The other ninja fell to the ground, held down by the chains of the Kusarigama. The ninja now lounged at his fallen opponent, bringing the sickle down upon him. The ranged assailant was able to brace the blow with a kunai, as they were now interlocked against each other. The ninja attempted to exert the full force of his body onto the other ninja as he pushed the sickle closer and closer to the face of his opponent. The ninja on the ground quickly pushed his assassin a little forward with his upper body and brought his legs in front of him, kicking with all his might to send the other ninja tumbling through the air. He unraveled the chain from his feet and jumped to his feet as his opponent was recovering.

He grabbed three kunai and threw them at his fallen opponent. The only thing the ninja could do was shield himself with his arm as two of three kunai pierced through it. He grasped at the familiar pain, but fought through it and raised to his feet. He rushed his opponent, and the ranged ninja attempted to throw another kunai, but realized he had thrown out all his throwing weapons. He attempted to block the blow, but the Kusarigama pierced his upper shoulder. With his remaining strength, the ranged ninja pushed off his opponent and his weapon, and fled into the night.

A ninja sat quietly in his house, realizing that he had no quarrel with anyone today, and decided to stay home. He quietly read his book once again, flipping through pages as he was in deep thought. He wondered why his clan had to send him to do the job, as he was a very busy person, and thought the prospect of taking over this town was futile. He signed, realizing that all he was doing was following orders. Bored by the prospect of being inside, he moved outside. He stood in front of his door, and took a big whiff of the cold midnight air. A sound pierced the air however, and he quickly came to his senses. An arrow pierced the dark sky, and headed for it's target. The calm ninja grabbed it out of the air, meters in front of his face. He realized that someone wanted him dead, as another arrow zoomed in on him. With his free hand, he grabbed the other arrow. Crushing the arrows with his hands, he looked forward to see a ninja with a bow. He charged the ninja, only using his fists as he gained speed. The other ninja realized he was outmatched, and quickly disappeared in a puff of smoke.

He managed to scare him away with no harm done to him, but then he realized he was still not alone. Quickly moving under a katana, he pushed away another opponent. This ninja was armed with a sword, and seemed like he had come to assassinate him. The katana ninja rushed his mark, bringing down a flurry of slashes onto his opponent. The calm ninja was elusive though, and quickly side-stepped or evaded each slash. Grabbing the hand of his opponent, he tossed him over his shoulder into his the wall of his house. The ninja crashed into the wall, and appeared to be knocked out.

The ninja charged at him, bringing down his fist onto his opponent. But the other ninja was only feigning his weakness, and brought the sword through the stomach of the fisted ninja, stopping him inches short of bringing his fist down upon his face. The ninja grasped at the sword, and pulled back, and with the sword still in his stomach, removed it as blood gushed out onto the soft grass. He threw the sword to the side, and appeared to be unfazed. The now unarmed ninja realized his folly, and quickly made his escape. After the rush of adrenaline wore off, JaFF realized that the wound was more grievous than he thought. He dragged himself to his house to bandage his wounds. As he closed the door, the wind died down.

An explosion engulfed JaFF's house, as a fiery pillar of red consumed the small wooden house, lashing out at any nearby vegetation. The fires burned hot, incinerating anything and everything inside the house. From a distance, a silhouette could be briefly be seen in the blazing fires, as it seemed to curse at the sky. Any resemblance of life within the house disappeared, as the fires started to die down. Though at the exact moment, another explosion engulfed the house once again, causing the fire to spread outwards from the former house of JaFF's, leaving no trace of the house or it's former owner. JaFF was dead.

Nearby, a ninja laughed to himself as he watched the death of JaFF. He knew that he had missed the first night, but had finally got him this time. With his job done, he began his long tread home. However, as soon as he turned around, he was interrupted by the an unknown object whizzing by his face. He quickly ducked under blow and rolled away from his opponent, looking at his opponent. This ninja in front of him wielded a Tessen, and quickly pushed forward towards his mark.

The explosive ninja quickly grabbed a smoke bomb and exploded it on the ground, obscuring the air with a gray smoke. However, with one fell motion of his arm, the other ninja seemed push away most of the smoke with his Tessen, revealing his opponent. The ninja was foiled, so he grabbed a small ball out of his pocket and threw it at his opponent. The tessen ninja deflected the brunt of the explosion with his war fan, rendering the attack useless. His opponent rushed at him and the explosive ninja panicked.

He had one last trick up his sleeve, taking out a small sticky explosive that had enough power to seriously burn and injure a man; this ball would explode shortly after impact, making it impossible to remove. The ninja with the Tessen did not see him take out the explosive, and was still rushing him head on, open to any attacks. With one last ditch effort, the explosive ninja threw the small sticky wad of destruction.

At the last second, the tessen Ninja brought up his fan and the ball stuck to the outside of the fan. With the two within arms length of each other, the explosive went off. The explosive ninja felt the force of the blast, severely burning his body and left arm, while the ninja's tessen had saved him from immediate death, shielding most of the explosion, as the explosion only threw him back. Defeated, the explosive ninja quickly ran away, realizing that he would fight another day.

Meanwhile, at the exact same time as this battle, another ninja had watched JaFF's house go into a blaze. He laughed, because for some odd reason, he had also targeted him the day before, with the exact same weapon, explosives.

Noticing several small explosions to the west of the house, he saw two masked figures quickly leave the scene, one appearing to be greatly injured from the blast. Wishing to avoid confrontation, he quickly moved from the site of battle towards his home. Only a minute had passed until he noticed something was wrong.

It was too late however, as a flying chain appeared from the bushes and latched onto his arm. He struggled against the chain and before he could remove the chain, a Kusarigama was brought down into other arm. The sickle pierced through his forearm and brought him down to one knee as he watched his assassin stand triumphantly in front of him. But the explosive ninjas had a trick up his sleeve, low and behold, an explosive that would emit a high intensity flare of light. He had been gripping the explosive in his hand, and upon letting ago, the explosive detonated, releasing a blinding light. The other ninja shielded his eyes and staggered backwards, and by the time he had opened his eyes, the other ninja had vanished.

Walking under the night sky on a beaten road, the ninja slowly walked with his purpose. In one hand, he held a katana. In the other hand, he held another katana. He knew what his target was, and he was intent on finding him and killing him. He walked slowly on the gravel, each step causing a sound of sand and rocks being displaced. However, he noticed something was off. He stopped walking, and still heard the sound of displaced gravel, directly behind him.

Before he could bring up his swords, he was knocked down by an unknown opponent. The assassin had found his mark, and began beating the dual-wielding ninja, rendering his weapons useless as the ninja on the ground could not contemplate what was happening. All he could do was take each thundering punch and hope that he could somehow force his opponent off. He didn't need to do anything however, as the sounds of flesh beating flesh were interrupted by a piercing sound. Several ninja stars had impaled the bare-handed Ninja, and momentarily stopped him from beating upon the sword ninja. The bare-handed ninja attempted to rise to his feet, but was met with several more ninja stars, effectively killing him, as he fell upon his mark.

The katana ninja struggled with the weight of the dead body upon him, but was relieved when the assassin sent to kill his assassin kicked off the body. They both locked eyes and realizing he had no quarrel with him for now, he went about his business. The throwing ninja collected his stars, searched the body of the dead ninja and quietly walked off into the distance. The dual katana looked at the now dead Riney, contemplating what would have happened if that other ninja had not shown up. Riney was dead.

"I did it because he was my mark, and not to save you. Given the choice, I would have killed you too." The throwing ninja said as he quietly walked off.

The dual-katana ninja had finally located his mark, as he watched from a distance, he could make out a ninja with a Kusarigama. Observing from afar, he watched his mark in action.

Quietly sitting in a cornfield, the ninja with Kusarigama peaked out at the end of the field to see his mark. He notices that the ninja appears to be severely injured, as there was a large wound in his upper shoulder, appearing to be from a Kursarigama. Realizing upon his weakness, he moves quickly towards his opponent. Before DevliN could react, a Kusarigama is brought down into his heart, stopping him place. DevliN's body slumps against the sickle, and as his killer removes the Kusarigama, DevliN falls to the ground with a thump. His killer quickly grabbed what weapons he could find from the fallen ninja, and fled from the scene. DevliN was dead.

Before the ninja with Kursarigama could make his epic escape from his lightning quick kill, he was tripped up by an unseen foot. As he fell to the ground, he was slashed by a katana across his back. The metal blade pierced his skin and left a sizable gash in his back. The dual katana ninja attempted to recite something to the other ninja as he tried to continue slashing him, but the ninja on the ground successfully deflected each blow with his sickle. In desperation, he threw his chain at the ninja and hit him in the chest, stunning him. He then kicked his opponent away, and moved once again quickly through the cornfield. Though he had been wounded, he managed to escape with his life. The dual-katana ninja knew that he was foolish in his attempt to kill the other ninja, as he had acted arrogantly before he had even secured the kill. He knew he had wounded him, so he disappeared into the night, as the sun begin rising, illuminating and revealing the chaos that had just ensued in such a short time. Fires blazed, ninjas lay dead and blood dripped everywhere, as another day had passed in the small town of Tokyo.

Night 3:

The gossip and rumors became louder in the port city of Tokyo. Just a night a ago, more bodies were found amongst the outskirts of town. People began rushing to their homes even earlier, because what scared them most is a threat they could not even see. The sun set once again, and the darkness enveloped the small town once again, as there would be no peace tonight.

The ninja wielding a Kusarigama was once again hiding in the shadows, waiting for his mark. He had sustained several injures from DevliN the previous two nights, but tonight, he had another target on mind. He knew that DevliN was dead, for during the day, he had seen his body being dragged through the town. He wandered who had done the deed and robbed him of his right to revenge, but he decided that his own revenge would have to wait another day. He instead waited for another ninja, one who wielded the same weapon as him, so he could exact steal his weapon and claim two Kusarigamas once he defeated his opponent. Crouching among the long grass, he made out a silhouette in the distance. It was approaching fast, ruffling the vegetation and the grass as it moved. The ninja knew it was his target, and readied his Kusarigama.

In one swift motion, the ninja spun, and then swung his chain through the long grass at the moving target. At that same moment, a chain from in front of him flew through the grass and collided with his chain, effectively nullifying both attacks. Both ninjas began attacking each other with their sickle ends of the Kusarigama. With each swing performed, the long grass flew from each blow and flew into the air, creating a shower of vibrant green against the dark sky. Each ninja worked quickly however, utilizing the long grass to their advantage, effectively providing a shroud of deception as they attempted to cut each other down. The long grass provided the ability for each ninja to quickly attack, and then move to a new patch as it became an intricate dance of death.

Realizing that this was going no where, one of the ninjas attempted to disable the other by throwing his chain through the veil of grass, but that was quickly countered by the other ninja's chain. He once again tried throwing the chain again, but was met by the same result as the heavy chains clashed with each other once again. They were at a stalemate, as neither had any sort of opportunity to inflict any sort of serious damage on each other. Both ninjas seemed to realized that under the circumstances and conditions, they were perfectly matched. As quickly as the battle started, it ended, as both ninjas dashed away, content that they had not been harmed in the encounter.

In a different location at the same time, a ninja waited on top of a cliff. He silently lay on his stomach, with his bow to his side. He carefully observed the landscape ahead of him. It was flat farm land, with no visible cover at all. He knew this was the perfect spot to take his mark down. He knew that his mark would have to go through this open stretch of land. He waited patiently for several minutes as the night grew silent, the moonlight beaming down on the would-be assassin. He knew he had to be patient, the mark would come, all he needed to do was wait.

After several minutes of waiting, he heard a ruffle of grass below him. Peering ahead of him, he found his target. The ninja in the field was slowly walking with his Tessen in hand. The ranged ninja knew he had finally caught him off-guard, and slowly reached for his bow. He loaded an arrow, and slowly pulled back, as he watched the ninja slowly tread forward in the open terrain. He focused with one eye closed, pinpointing the target's head. He held steady, waiting for the perfect moment. A bead of sweat dripped down his face, as he held the arrow patiently, looking for his opening. The other ninja momentarily stopped for a second, turning towards the cliff-side, and the ninja on the cliff knew that this was it, and let go of the arrow. The arrow zoomed through the air, on target for the head of the mark.

The arrow reached the target,

shattering as it hit the tessen of the other ninja. Whether it be a fluke or a display of pure skill, the tessen ninja had brought up his tessen to his face for no apparent reason. Perhaps he was admiring the design of his tessen, but nonetheless, his life was spared due to his actions.

The bow ninja brought his the palm of his hand to his face, and sighed deeply. Quickly realizing he had lost the element of surprise, he quickly dispersed from the scene.

Down below, the ninja began sprinting through the fields to avoid further confrontations and arrows. Quickly moving about, he was nearly home when the blade of a katana swung from behind a tree. Quickly dropping to the ground, he slid on his knees and brought his head back, the katana coming within several inches of his face. As he moved past the blade, he quickly grabbed his tessen and stopped in place, turning to face his attack. The ninja with a katana rushed at him, attempting to bring down the full brunt of his fury upon his mark.

Quickly stepping side to side, he avoided the long wild swings the other ninja had tried to attack with him. He then ducked under multiple horizontal swings as the other ninja seemed to only grow in anger as he missed each attack. He attempted to stab his mark, but the agile ninja simply moved his body in such a way to easily avoid the blow. With each attack, the katana ninja only tired himself out, and left himself more and more open to a counterattack.

In desperation, the ninja attempted to strike down his opponent with one fierce overhead blow. The tessen ninja brought his tessen up and blocked the monstrous blow, and behind the veil of his fan, clenched his fist and brought it forward into the chest of his opponent. Staggering his opponent momentarily, he then kicked the weapon out of his opponent's hand. Realizing the folly of his attack, his assassin quickly backed away, grabbing his katana and retreating into the night. The tessen ninja had averted death, for now.

Meanwhile...

He sat in quiet contemplation. At each side, lay a katana. He held his hands together, deep in thought and prayer. He sat quietly near a small stream, only the sound of trickling water could be heard from several hundred meters. This ninja had decided that he would cleanse his body of impurities and weaknesses, in attempt to become stronger. A calm soothing breeze blew over him, cooling and freshening his body. His peace would not last long however.

In a less than a second, a flurry of ninja stars pierced the silent night, screeching through the air as they headed for the meditating ninja. The calm ninja, grabbing both his katanas, easily rolled out of the way as a shower of ninja stars pierced his former location. He looked over his shoulder, to see the very ninja that had spared his life the night before. Before he could attack or speak, the other ninja disappeared into the night.

Realizing that his location was no longer safe, he swiftly left the quiet stream and headed back for his hideout. Upon reaching a narrow walkway of grass surrounded by two cliff-sides, he slowed his pace and began to catch his breath.

His time of rest was short-lived however, as an explosion enveloped the sky directly above him. The result was a land-slide of rocks, gravel and dead animals falling straight for the ninja in the small narrow walkway. He quickly picked up his pace, moving quickly through the narrow winding path. As small rocks and dead animals approached him from above, he slashed away directly above him, providing a temporary shield from debris as he moved through the cramped path. Seeing the end of his path directly in front of him, he leapt forward with all his strength, just as the cliff-sides merged into each other behind him. He knew that this was a work of an explosives expert, and running him, he plotted his revenge.

The ninja wielding the Kusarigama sprinted his way home, still disappointed that he could not defeat the other ninja and claim his weapon. His mind now wandered to DevliN's killer, still trying to connect the dots to who had killed him. He then remembered the wound DevliN had sustained that he had not noticed before: that of a Kusarigama. He knew the killer's weapon, but was it the man he faced earlier tonight?

As he moved through a forest, something strange had caught his attention. Directly ahead of him, he saw a gleam of light. It was not until he plowed into a chain tied between two trees did he realize that he had ran into a metal chain. The blow momentarily stunned him, but that is all his killer needed. Bringing down foot on the face of Payne, he smashed his nose and teeth, staggering him on the ground. Payne could faintly make out the figure and realizing the weapon he had used to stun him; he knew that this other ninja used the same weapon as him. But this figure wasn't the man he had fought earlier...he was different. Payne attempted to blurt out something through his smashed throat, but could not say anything legible. But his killer seemed to know what he was thinking.

"It's funny isn't it? The man who kills DevliN, the man you were after for two nights, is the one to also kill you. DevliN couldn't stop me, and neither can you Payne. Takes me one night to finish the job for him, and takes me one night to finish the job for you. You're just as weak and pathetic as him. Good night, sweet prince."

Grabbing Payne's own weapon, he closes in on Payne and kneels down behind him. The last waking moment of Payne is the sight of the sickle, being brought down into his skull. Payne was dead. As the sun rose, one could hear the faint sound of metal grinding on bone...
