I don't feel like arguing anymore. Instead, i'm going to do something to hopefully bring back the fun in SEN.
I was reading Cent's Post, and I've realized that it is time to take matters into my own hands and work on something that I'd really enjoy! Similar to what Cecil is doing right now.
I'm going to Revive Map Night, and I'm going to need a lot of help in making sure this will not flop like it did before =D

Specifications

• What I need are up to 5 people that have both the interest and commitment to work with me to Host Map Night every week onFRIDAYS 7pm-9pm PST.
  
• These people will be the "Hosters", and will have control over the channel.
  
• However, really anyone can host.
  
• It has been decided the Map Night will still run in Channel Op Sen @Useast
  
• The choices for maps can be spontaneous or planned. People who wants certain maps to be played can post here on SEN, and this map will be listed.
  
• Map lists will be maintained for MapNights in the first post.

Managers and Hosters

General Managers and Hosters
- I am looking for people who are willing to commit themselves to go on and host at a specific time almost every week.
- These people will be able to control the channel (i.e. ban/kick)
- They will also be hosting games during map night. Especially if no one else is hosting anything.
- I think that we will general host private games (i.e. games with passwords)
- They must be friendly enough to allow random people to join and play with them without ragequitting or blamming them
- They will also help post information on SEN

Channel Host
- The Channel will be Op Sen and will be regulated by both the Sen Bot(s) and the bot MapNight@azeroth
- type ",info" for more info on the bot/mapnight
- type ",quote" for a random map suggestion!
- This is to prevent bot spammers, racial insults, aggression, and etc.
- I need a bot with a foolproof system against bot spamming ><

SEN posters
- Although I will be keeping this post active, I am wondering if there's anyway to fix or incorporate the Map Night that is already programmed on this website.
- I would also need others to help keep up with map requests.

Rules

Rules Smules... really, just respect each other

• NO Bot Spamming/Bot Greets
  
• NO direct Racial comments
  
• PLEASE NO Prolonged aggressive arguments.
  
• NO hosting porn maps (srsly, pigy)

Rules subject to change...

Here's how I, and the General Managers, should deal with this.
1. 1st time - Verbal Warning -- No agressiveness. Explain.
2. 2nd time - Final Warning -- State what needs to be stopped and that one more warning = out. Kick player out of channel if he/she does not seem to get the picture.
3. 3rd time - Suspension -- one to two weeks IP banned from channel
4. 4th time or more - Chronic Problem -- Ip Ban forever.

If person do not stop immediately after warnings, hosters/managers can proceed with Kicking and then Suspension.

Date and Time

The "official" Time of Map Nights will be FRIDAYS: 7-9pm PST (starting April 30th)
obviously, people are welcomed to come early and stay late =D

Remember to configure the time for your time zone... i.e. if you're living in Toronto or New York, this'd be 10-12 pm for you guys!

Map List
- Post down plausible maps to start off map night again!!!
- Remember that, since this is just for fun, really anyone can host.
- This map List will give me and the hoster an idea of what to host next... Just to keep things interesting!
- Also.. try to suggest maps that are in the SEN DLDB!!


note: hosters and trusted members who ask are being allowed to add to the map list... so don't complain about weird maps.. because I probably didn't add them.. Also, this is in no way, shape, or form, an "official" map list... Furthermore, if you DO have some problems with this map list, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE suggest some maps here so I can put more maps onto the list.. TY!!!

The Screenshot Challenge
For every week, whoever captures the most entertaining screenshot and description will be declared the Winner of that week's Screenshot Challenge!!!
Only Rule: Your screenie MUST be able to be identified by one of the hosters that it was taken during said Map Night.
Reward: Winners of the Screenshot Challenge will (most likely) recieve 10 minerals!! SO REMEMBER TO TAKE THE SCREENIES!!

Suggestion 1
What if we have a First-come, first-serve Tournament, where the first people to be able to join the game will Compete.
The map to compete in will be randomly chosen the week before the map night.
I can maybe ask Devourer to input something in the Map Night on the SEN Website to give the winners some acknowledgements.

Now that the Post has been set up.... I really need people for help
The problem before was that it's not possible to have a few people commit to the map night
Therefore, having multiple Hosters that are well committed and always have a presence, I think this map night will prevail.

I can host games, got a bunch of maps ranging from Temple Siege to some random Korean Defense game. Dont have RPGs though
I got a bot that can stay on for hours, Ill just post a bot up right when i get home from school and i'm always available at 8:30-10:30 PST PM to host any games or such.

You need a Ops channel or a Clan channel to be able to control the channel. I registered the account Mapnight so the official channel can be Op MapNight. I'll PM UU the password, if he wants to change it it's up to him.

I can possibly run a bot 24/7 or just for mapnights if needed. Remember, you can only have 2 channel ops in an Op channel, so one would be MapNight, and one would be for spam protection or something.

Truth is, all the times work for me. Though, I dunno if I'll show up... Depends who's there. I only like playing with people I like

I only see this working in op sen

I do not support any map night which is not conducted in Op SEN, and I think it is counterproductive to SEN to have this in portal news.

Sounds great; host it in Op Sen.

I agree with the past three posts. It's only an official SEN map night if it's in op SEN.

The problem with Hosting it in Op Sen would be that me and the general Hosters will not have enough control over the channel
It is only this way that I can make sure no spammers/idiots would come in and ruin things

However, there is another way. Which would mean giving me (or a Hoster) control over Op Sen for just map nights. I didn't think this would fly, tho, so I suggested another channel to make things ezier. Or.. several of the mods who has control over Op Sen can commit to Map Night.

Come to think of it.. it ought to be channel Op something so I can get designation.

Didn't like people in Op SEN? Heavens no. I don't like people misusing Op SEN, and although Map Night is not misuse by any means, there is a reason I'm so adamant about Op SEN being used:
If this map night is to be SEN's map night, not just Unholy's map night, we are responsible for it in certain aspects. It has our name on it, thus we must make sure trouble makers are dealt with accordingly and that things go smoothly.

If this is going to be in Portal News, have SEN support, and in essence be the return of SEN's map night, then it has to have some element of SEN control. Otherwise, I'd recommend it moved to General Starcraft and given no more support than any other non-SEN event.

Well, I'm not saying there shouldn't be any SEN control.

I don't really mind it being in Op Sen, as it'd solve the channel host problems.. But the other problems are...
1. As of now, there aren't enough people who have control over the Op Sen Channel that seem to be interested and committed to Map Night. I have also assumed that this was the cause of the previous map night's downfall.
2. Since I'm the one who has brought this revival up, it is only fair that I, and fellow Hosters that I would assign to, get control over the Map Night channel, at least during the Map Nights. This is the main reason why I suggested another channel in the first place - so there wouldn't be any conflicts between channel control, rules, and other stuffs of the sort.

I was being sarcastic about no one likes people in Op Sen.. since it's due to ppl hiding in channel donuts because of TS fanatics swarming to op sen THE SECRET IS OUT!! OH NOES

So basically, to compromise.. you can
a) Get more mods to actually be interested and committed to map night again, and work with me and the Hosters to deliver map night.
b) Give us the control over Op Sen (during the map night time)
EDIT: c) let the map night be hosted on a different channel.

Or not compromise at all by.......
d) Shifting it to General SC so there's no affiliation to SEN whatsoever.
e) Taking it away from me, and host your own Map Night again, thus making this current Revival moot.

I can honestly commit to nearly every single map night on any night. And on the rare occurrence that for some reason I cannot, I'm sure someone else would be able to help you. Just about anyone on SEN staff has proper access to Op SEN and I doubt you'd have a map night with zero of us being available. If its a SEN event, its a duty for one of us to oversee it, interested or not. It should be a non-issue.
