I shall be programming
Pokemon for the Calculator. Hopefully this does not interfere with my attention in school or any other responsibilities that I have. If anyone wants to help I have no problem with that (PLZ HELP LAWL).
This will be taking place in Kanto
However, I want it to have a unique storyline different from that of red blue and yellow. It would be nice to have some help with that, thanks! Another area of help: Bitmap Art. For those of you talented individuals who can put SO much detail into a 32x64 sprite, I humbly ask your submission of 32x32 monochrome bmps to represent pokemon. Submit whatever you have, I guaruntee it will be better than the horseshit I have come up with in paint. >.<
Other help: Advice, tips, pointers. I am not a programming pro, I just like doing it. Any help would be nice. Things I need help on currently:
Coming up with a graphics rendering system (Rendering the graphics is doable, but storing bmps in the calculator is the tough part.)
Designing a navigation system: I am swaying between text based navigation and img based navigation. Because of the difficulty of render programming, and the limited processor/ram space on the calculator I am probably doing text based. However, the battles I would like to be graphical. I always liked the stupid battle effects in pokemon
ANY thought submission/help/criticism is welcome. thanks sen!
EDIT: Oh, here is the startscreen that I have.

I'm only here because they patched SC1 and made it free.
20$ says you don't finish it.
Can it be for the ti 89 instead?

I came in this thread assuming there would be some sort of download.
I am most displeased.

oh god. my heart just smashed into tiny pieces. I suppose it was foolish of me to think that it hadn't been done before.
EDIT: for the record, my title screen is WAY better.

How about for ti-89!!?!!?!? I have seen some but they are not that great.
(and ex probably wants money now

Well, I never said that I was going to stop. Oh btw, I don't have a ti89, and I don't like using calculatorimages on the computer.

You should just go with the usual storyline
I like the usual storyline.
None.
You should get the game working before worrying about storyline.

Good luck, man. It took my friend, who knows WAY too much about programming calculators, weeks to make a Tanks game with minimal graphics. I predict your graphics will be the hardest part!
Win by luck, lose by skill.
What language were/are you planning on using? xD

Do it for TI-83+ and I can help on programming

Benchmark moment today. I completed a render graphics system that portrays the character moving around on the screen. He can communicate with sprites that I have assigned coordinate values to do so, and he can read signs on buildings. This is the first part of the 3 part engine. The second part will be navigation in the menu (shouldn't be too tough). The third part will be tougher, I think. The third part will be the actual pokemon battle system.
EDIT:

I am playing through pokemon blue right now, making notes about the storyline
. I might change a couple things (Mostly due to calculator memory issues
)

Check out
this program, it does an amazing job, although I doubt there's room on the calculator for the necessary image space for all those Pokemon.

83+ and 84+ are mostly compatible (with a few differences). Any programming that works on an 83+ should work on an 84+, as far as I know.

My program is using the rendering method of xLIB, wich allows me to use tilesets that I can store as pics in the calculator. Right now, i have pallet town done.

But it's so much fun getting around that.
If you are using ASM then FindSym is a fun way. I was once working on a project where I put all the data in a separate "program" and then accessed it dynamically. There are also bcalls that allow you to archive or unarchive a variable... Worst case you do it in parts. Though with lack of color depth and resolution, that might save a lot of space.
Also if you are ever feeling adventurous, doing greyscale graphics is always fun. xD

Greyscale, lol. that seems hard.
