ITT SEN Con 2013/14....date TBA.
So hypothetically speaking if someone on the board were to plan a SEN Convention would you go to it? I am legitimately considering trying to get something up and running for us, because it'd be fun to meet you guys, even if I don't play SC. So if I were to set something up at a Denver hotel, would you be able to go? And what would you want to do? Here's what I'm thinking:
The event....-3-4 days, probably over a weekend (Thursday-Sunday, Friday-Sunday, something like that)
-Eight-Twelve Computers provided (you can rent those I know
) and set up for SC, SC2, D3 etc.
-Xbox, Xbox360, PS3, N64, PS2... etc set up in another room - bring your own games, I can provide the major consuls and controllers (and some games, but I doubt you play the games I do).
-You pay airfare/room/board.
Funding...I am planning on figuring out the pricing and putting it up on a service like Kickstarter, but I have never used Kickstarter or IndieGoGo before, so I still need to research it. However, I can almost guarantee that a contribution somewhere between $40-$100 straight up will give you admission to the 'convention.' It depends on how expensive renting the space and the computers are. And there will be perks. Like a heartfelt thank you card from me.
or maybe Devlin if we can harass him into it.
I am calculating for approximately twenty people...that seems to be, in general, how many people in the past have said yes or "yes if..." I think things will be pretty well priced, until we hit an attendance threshold, than suddenly expensive with more regulations, and then the price will go back down per person again. More specifics will be available with time and research.
Of course, you do not have to contribute to KickStarter to get your pass, but it would certainly do well for you to do so. It is also important you answer the poll above so I can get a good estimate of who wants to come.
Extras...As you know fundraising services like KickStarter show where the funding goes as they reach certain amounts. If we reach the correct amount to host a convention then the upper tiers would be extra functions we otherwise wouldn't be able to afford. This could be a guest speaker, an excursion, something of that nature. So if you have something in mind, post it here for discussion.
I am really quite serious about seeing if we can make this work. So please contribute thoughtfully.
It has come to my attention that people are much more interested in just meeting up for a day. That standing, what city would you like to meet up in?
Activities...

As much as it breaks my heart I left Denver off the choices.
