well if i use two computers to download it'll be twice as fast

And I thought humanity had hope. Post your experiences with the technologically incompetent here! Whether it's to vent or to send a warning message doesn't matter.

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

While working on a show a few years back, I was in the office while most of the staff was on location. I received a call from one of my bosses asking how they can connect to the wireless hub at the stage they were shooting at. I said I had no idea, they'd have to ask someone who worked there. I then had to say that over again a few times in various ways as it didn't seem to get through to this person the first time. 10 minutes later, I get a call from an assistant to this boss at the location asking me the same question. I again explain that I can't help them as I don't know the name and password for the wireless there. The assistant understood what I was saying. Awesome. An hour goes by and I get another call, this time asking if I can call AT&T (the internet provider in our office) to have them set up internet access at the stage for 2 weeks. I explained that most likely wasn't possible, they'd have to stick to the stage's wireless. That was the last call I got regarding internet issues for the shoot.

When the crew got back, I learned that they never asked for found out the wireless info, so they ran an Ethernet cord from one building to another and set up their own wireless router instead.

Show them your butt, and when you do, slap it so it creates a sound akin to a chorus of screaming spider monkeys flogging a chime with cacti. Only then can you find your destiny at the tip of the shaft.

Still Napping

I was with a guy once that literally lit a computer on fire when he booted it up. He connected an IDE cable from the mobo into some pins sticking out on the mobo. I don't know how he forced it to fit, but he did. Turned it on and smoke started billowing out. Funniest shit ever.

'Twas probably Rai.

I haven't personally experienced anything this bad, nor close to it, but I still hope to find the holy grail of technological ignorance.

Poster #1: "ddr3 1333 should be running at 444mhz, when u see that from cpuz of bios the number is divided by 3 for ddr3 1333/3=444 so 444 should be the speed, if it's ddr2 then it's divided by 2, eg:ddr2 800 should be running at 400mhz if it's ddr then the speed on bios the the speed of ram."
Poster #2: "Okay, thanks!"

Lol, you don't know crazy until you see me dealing with indie devs and the garbage they repeatedly try to pass off as games.

Relatively ancient and inactive

Thankfully, I don't have the misfortune to know someone so incredibly ignorant about computers. My grandfather's pretty bad with them, but hasn't ever said anything that approximates the ignorance of your relatives. Just not great at navigating the Windows GUI.
