Step 1: Attach self to magnet via metal belt.
Step 2: Attach magnet to airplane.

Enjoy free flight, remove belt when finished.

How would it be free? I'd still need a ticket to get on the plane to then use the magnet to attach myself to the interior wall. It just seems more cumbersome to be honest.

*facepalm*

I would get 2 of them and make my hdd float inside my computer case to prevent damaging the hdd when I kick against my case when I lose at sc. :0_o:

Good luck.

What about fixing a lot of the magnets on the interior side of a roof and being able to lift epic metal weight? It'd float (with the exact proper weight) and you could just push it... how :awesome: would that be?

You would need some way to hold the magnets in place, something that could support such weight. Also, if you push it, it would throw off the careful balance and the effect is ruined. To construct something that would hold up a metal roof is essentially building another roof.

TL;DR: Newton's Third Law.

Didn't understand that one. D:

1) Hide Magnet in your silly job boss's bureau.
2) Put drugs into his coffee.
3) When he's asleep, operate him to insert a piece of metal in his body.

Wouldn't it be funny to see your boss stuck on the roof, crying for help? :><:

Closest I can think of to making anything purposeful with this would be to try constructing a working rail gun or something.

Oh I thought you alluded to the fact that it'd be difficult to keep the hdd from slipping away sideways without having something to touch it to hold it in place.

Set the magnet on a surface so that if you go above it, it repels you, throwing you into the air. Hopefully you have a parachute or something to grab on to afterward...

I was. It's impossible to do that with a permanent magnet, as you could have discovered in the wikipedia page...

Nah, just attach more magnets at the sides. Make sure they are configured to repel the hdd + magnet.

What if you threw that magnet in a room (the walls) made out of magnet? Wut do?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic_levitation

"Earnshaw's theorem proves that using only static ferromagnetism it is impossible to stably levitate against gravity, but servomechanisms, the use of diamagnetic materials, superconduction, or systems involving eddy currents permit this to occur."

"Static stability means that any small displacement away from a stable equilibrium causes a net force to push it back to the equilibrium point.

...

Earnshaw's theorem proved conclusively that it is not possible to levitate stably using only static, macroscopic, paramagnetic fields. The forces acting on any paramagnetic object in any combination of gravitational, electrostatic, and magnetostatic fields will make the object's position unstable along at least one axis, and can be unstable along all axes. However, several possibilities exist to make levitation viable, for example, the use of electronic stabilization or diamagnetic materials (since relative magnetic permeability is less than one[2]); it can be shown that diamagnetic materials are stable along at least one axis, and can be stable along all axes."

Oh_Man -- a program called mapstats I think it's on here to DL
[2022-7-03. : 2:39 pm]
GGmano -- so theres a limit on total triggers on around 80k?
[2022-7-03. : 2:38 pm]
GGmano -- thanks for info anyway
[2022-7-03. : 2:38 pm]
GGmano -- how did you found that out ohh man?
[2022-7-03. : 2:15 pm]
Oh_Man -- mapstats says 80k triggers
[2022-7-02. : 9:37 pm]
GGmano -- maybe its not about the size i guess since its now above 6000 and was saved
[2022-7-02. : 9:05 pm]
GGmano -- just seems like 6000kb is an obstacle not sure
[2022-7-02. : 9:05 pm]
GGmano -- idk it could also be about the map size its like above 6k kb map wont be saved,, 6000kb of triggers no sounds im aware sounds can go beyond that size
[2022-7-02. : 8:51 pm]
GGmano -- heres link for the new release http://www.staredit.net/topic/18475/#1
