I'm not sure if shared projects would work. Working on the same thing 2 people is already a challenge because there are things that you want to do one way but the other one wants to do other way and there's always disputes. Plus it's their map, they are the ones who will decide.
I know, it's theirs. What I thought is to have a list of already decided TODO things that need to be implemented in the real map. You also need the detailed documentation on all used map resources (locations, switches and etc.). If someone wants to help the project he takes one particular thing from the todo list and implements it in the map. And when you using version control you could always revert if you dont like the particular change. Though this requires confidence between people. People might think "I've created this map, it is mine! noone will see how I've done it! it's my ideas!.. You bastards are stealing my ideas!" and so on. You could reason in such a way, but you'll benefit more if you say "look what I have done, if you're interested you may investigate it and change if you like..." Ivestigateing your prject people might point out errors that you've missed and give you suggestions. IMHO, you should not think about yourself as being the hub of the universe. Be open to the others. And if you have looked wider you'll notice that almost all your "personal" and "unique" ideas have been implemented before you. You just dont know about them.
That epic single-developper projects are more likely to fail... because if the only developper abandones it noone can do anything even if they wanted because they are closed. When it is a shared project others could continue the work. Or something like that. I reallized that taking the Crescent Dyne is a bad idea because the creators would hardly agree. It's a pity such projects are laying on the dusty shelf. But we could start a new one. BTW, Tux wanted to start a team project... Let me see...there were his notes about team projects somewhere...

I was not saying that shared projects are bad. Or that they cannot work. Or that I wouldn't let anyone use my ideas. In fact I have a shared project going on ATM, and I know that sooner or later arguments appear. "I want it to have this spell!" "No! I don't like that spell!" etc.
Making the map open to anyone who wants to add stuff would make the problem even worse. However it might work if there's a team of trustful leaders which decides what changes stay and what has to be redone and what's just garbage or rigs the map.
And yes, Crescent Dyne is probably a bad idea. A team project should probably be started as a team project from scratch...

Because it is not finished. And that version lacks triggers, all that it has is terrain.
?????

I haven't thought about it... What's the problem then... Discard the whole strings section and recompile triggers. Though have to name locations and units... Well, I have to admit it is little tedious but it's not like "it's all lost!"

I have a feeling they were just tired of working on it and after one little issue came up, they exclaimed that it was Armageddon. But that's just an assumption.
Currently Working On: My Overwatch addiction.
Let me show you how to hump without making love.
No, Lethal does want to start on the project. He is actually very adamant about it. And the severity of the gap between what was done between this corrupted version and the last backup is immense, about a month worth of work. If anyone knows how to get around the corruption or fix it, CD will be back up in the running.

Woodenfire was almost as bad as devilesk when it came to manners... almost...

Then you didn't see him on the forums, he was a complete asshole.
I've already asked for the map, I'm willing to fix it. But I cannot guarantee anything without having the corrupted map...

Imagine a world without Crescent Dyne RPG in it!!
It was never released. This imagined world is called reality.
You would need to talk to lethal about the map. He may let or may not let you have it, or he wants to know how to fix himself so if this happens again he knows what to do. Not seen him on starcraft lately so don't know.
As is payne map wouldn't get finished since woodenfire not around to do storyline for it. Lethal was only doing the engine triggers while waiting on woodenfire to return from his away time.
If all else fails, crowbar the fucker
