That's how I like links. It allows me to trick people with my clever titles of deception. However...
Incoming Code wants links to work differently. Try out the link function (
http://) over there and let us know whether you think links should stay the way they are now, or change to the current code of the hacks page that IP is using.
The new link set up will prevent me from using my cleverly titled links as rickroll rouses to fool you all. I think we should keep the link set up and disallow the addition of [website] after the link. I think it's redundant, etc. You guys may have your own reasons. IP likes it the hacks page way, and we figured it'd be best I make a thread, again.

None.
WHAT?? I don't understand the point of this topic. How is the rickroll link even deceitful? I hover over it and see exactly what the URL is in the bottom left of my firefox browser. Infact, I clicked it thinking that the point you were trying to make was that it somehow was not a link to the internetisseriousbussiness site, but it infact was and I got rickrolled even though it said that was the site it was going to... so the point is what the hell is the problem? I can identify the site perfectly fine.
None.
So would it not be able to have custom link labels?
So rather than saying like "as seen
here ..." you'd have to say "as seen here:
http://www.google.com/ ..."?

No, it just puts the real URL in brackets after. It'd look like this:
Lul [www.staredit.net]
Oh. That'd still be annoying to look at... you can just check the bottom left, anyway.

Sarcasm. (although perhaps you're using it to) The real reason is because I think it's dumb. Like, if a title isn't used, it'll just be repeating the site, if a title is used, then it just wastes space -- I'd rather put my pointer over the link. (now I realize you just completely miss the point after rereading, but lol at the fact you clicked on it)
@Syphon: Why are you calling that link 'browser crashing'.

Uh... Because when you click it you can't do anything else? You could've used youtube, but no, you tried a trap. It's not funny.

What...? I seriously don't understand. Why wouldn't you be able to do anything else? I'd think you were kidding, but you fined me 50 minerals to boot, so I don't know what your goal is here. All the link does is send you to Rick.

Relatively ancient and inactive
A waste and annoying to look at, in my opinion. It's easy to avoid plain links. FX tells what the link is. The problem is when the link is to a legit site which redirects to REICHROLL.
None.
it's not to prevent rickrolls.
None.
I was just pretending that was the issue. If Syphon didn't inexcusably remove my joke link it might have made more sense.

Err.. what else can possibly prompt this senseless act?
Oh, and in the shoutbox, if the url is short and it adds it on to the message, is the displayed message truncated or is it all displayed even though its past the technical character limit?
None.
I disagree actually - it wouldn't be more distracting than making yourself look into the corner of the screen/window to find out, and it'd keep people who aren't used to doing that aware of where links are actually leading to. I don't think it's a big deal either way, but I do prefer IP's way.
None.
Seriously, keep it simple. Put the link location in the title attribute for each link if you have to (both IE and Firefox give you link's location in the status bar when your mouse is over them)... it will appear as a tooltip when the cursor is left over it and syntax will remain simple. IMO, we should also be able to make image links.
Let me show you how to hump without making love.
Gawd that is so gross.
Let me add that the poll is outdated now since IP already changed it... but seeing as how most people disagree with him (all but 1) I think he might change it soon.......

Oh... I like it like this. I thought thats what we were discussing, whether it should stay or go... vote change!
