Players wont show up!

So here are some details.

I have this single player map Hyperion 2, currently there are 5 computers, and 1 human player. Tonight I tried adding 2 more players, because I've been adding some wait heavy trigger systems that I needed to divide among various players, because if all the systems were under player, they would freeze up all the other triggers, and would stop working correctly.

Simple enough of an idea, I just dont want to put these triggers somewhere they won't effect how other triggers work, right?

Wrong, I don't know why, but the game isn't registering that i have added these players in any shape or form, won't even point out their existence in the description.

Currently I am using SCM Draft 2. I made 1 CC and 1 start location for each of these new computer players.

If anybody knows why these guys arn't "existing" and could help me out, that would be gravy.

I made the following maps; Hyperion 2, The Undead, The Undead Coop, Realm Rpg beta, and Overlords.

This happens to me once in a while when I'm using the newest version of scmdraft. Saving it with the older version fixes it for me.

Hopefully it will work for you as well.

None.

Did you uncheck "allied victory" for any of the forces? Sometimes weird stuff happens where the computer players won't register if that's unchecked.

An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

Also make sure you've selected a valid type for the player slot (Player, Computer, Neutral). You could have also accidentally placed a unit sprite of the start locations rather than actual start locations.

This is precisely why Death Counters exist. They serve the same purpose as waits, but they don't block each other and thus can all operate under a single player. It may be worth your time to refactor your wait-heavy system into a DC system.

This is a bug in ScmDraft, I believe. If so, it's because the start location isn't properly saved.
To fix it you have to edit it with any other program (Starforge works pretty well, or the currently developed Chkdraft) that can save maps.
Then you can continue working in Scmdraft. Be warned though, this might introduce string corruption, so make sure to have a backup.

Cartography Artisan

If you're just editing units Chkdraft won't touch strings.

Just for the record, what turned out to be solving the issue? (And what didn't, if you had failed attempts)

Well, I wasn't able to clear up the issue at all. I tried replacing the start locations... multiple times. Nothing I tried really worked, so I finally gave in and worked around the problem, for it was taking longer to fix this issue than it was to just work around it. Hyperion 2 still actually has those 2 players and their buildings in the map, I left them there to serve as a memento to my struggle. But the other users recommended just using another program to place the start locations. I would be inclined to believe them, even if I am too lazy myself to download another program to fix this.

However, if there IS a program that works like special mode in the X-tra editor, that is actually compatible with windows 7, I have been looking for that.

Update: No clue why, but the players eventually showed up after awhile. Did some fixing and saving, next thing I know they are showing up when I test my map.
