I realise it's probably hyperbole - but that's a false dichotomy. And it doesn't follow that you kill yourself when a girl rejects you. Rejection is a natural part of the courtship process for both men and women.

What's with all these low resolutions? A new year's resolution is supposed to be the hope for the future of gargantuan pixel density, not living in the sordid aliased past!
Last year's resolution was 2560x1440 in glorious 27" korean. I expect 4k by 2016 from you all!

Well, I mean, couldn't you just lower the resolution for games, or turn down the quality, whichever looks better to you? Then you can still enjoy other desktop activities in glorious Ultra HD.
Just because a monitor is
capable of higher resolutions doesn't mean you have to max it out for everything. Although it'd be a hassle if you like to do a borderless fullscreen for games, I suppose.
