Firefocks not functioning.

Also one letter on my keyboard doesn't work, but the wire is getting frayed at part of it so that's probably why. Look at title if you didn't figure out which key.

Anyway, back on topic. A lot is probably irrelevant.

As everyone knows, my desktop is about to crap out. Recently I had some sort of infection called like hkey. I got it removed by restarting in safe mode and doing a malwarebytes scan. Things got ficksed up for the most part, but when I tried to restart my computer recently, it wouldn't start up. After roughly twenty minutes of trying over and over, I decided it was time to try something different. It should be noted that the computer would, when I hit the button, rev the fans constantly and show a green light on the front, which it usually only flashes during processing or displays when you hit the reset button. I would have to hit the switch in the back and try again. I unplugged all USB devices and such, tried it once more, and it turned on and booted.

Enter CHKDSK. After like three tries of going through chkdsk (and it bsod'ing) and countless BSOD errors before it even got to that point, I successfully started my computer. Now whenever I try and run firefocks it gives me a "firefocks is already running but not responding" error. There is no firefocks process on the task manager. I tried restarting my computer. I tried reinstalling firefocks. I really don't like chrome's setup. I'm too used to firefocks.

Chrome doesn't crash much. Every now and then a tab will crash, and even less frequently the entire program goes down.

Any suggestions?

If chkdsk is giving you BSOD's you have likely a bad RAM or HDD. If you can, try removing one of these parts and see what happens. If you have no secondary RAM / HDD you can check them in another computer. Make sure the other computer the right connectors: IDE or SATA for the HDD and DDR2 or DDR3 for the RAM.

If you need more specific directions for either steps feel free to ask.

Copy and paste the "x" key.

Seriously, though, reformat and reinstall your OS. You're too far gone to save the software issues gracefully, it seems.

Still Napping

After completely uninstalling Firefox, navigate to %appdata%\ and delete the Mozzila folder. Restart your PC, download a clean version of firefox, and reinstall.

None.

Will this delete stuff like bookmarks, history, etc?

Yes. Alternatively you can rename the folder and move it to a different location.
