Building squads of units from a building

As the title says, I'm attempting to make a custom building in which you will be able to open a command card and click which squad of units you want. The only real issue is that the units should not appear from the building itself, like they normally do. But instead, they appear at a set point. I'm wondering if such a thing is possible, or if I would have to do it through triggers instead of the data editor.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

How will that point be set?
You can use rally point for that and check out the barracks upgrade from the campaign (-> add story dependency). Then the point would be dynamic.
Else you could move the units with triggers or even create the units with triggers and dummy abilities that are executed with the button and detected by trigger events...

I wanted the point to be a fixed thing, as dropping them with the rally point would destroy the balance of the game.

How would I go about the process of them being created by a trigger from dummy abilities?

DummyAbilityCast
    Events
Unit - Any Unit uses DUMMY_ABILITY at Generic1 - Any stage (Ignore shared abilities)
    Local Variables
Owner = (Owner of (Triggering unit)) <Integer>
    Conditions
    Actions
Unit - Create 1 UNIT_TO_CREATE for player Owner at SPAWN_POINT using default facing (No Options)

Although doing it through the Data Editor would probably be better design, the above will work just fine.

Would having them made at a certain point/region, instead of directly from the building, be possible through the data editor?

Also, I'm having trouble trying to figure out how to make the custom building actually look like a building. I'm attempting for the Xel Naga Artifact Shrine model.

Yes, I'd say it's possible, but the DE is not really my forte, so I wouldn't know specifically how to go about doing that.

Go into the actor of the building you want to change, or make an actor for it if one does not exist. Then, go to "Art - Model" and select the Xel Naga Artifact Shrine model.

Alternatively, you can change the Model object that the building is using to use the Xel Naga Artifact Shrine.

Well... The real problem is that the building doesn't have a linked actor. I have no idea how to link an actor to it, either. I already have one made with the Xel Naga Artifact Shrine model, but I simply can not figure out how to link it.

Basically, you need a unit actor object and link it to your unit with the token setting on the top right side of the table.

Yeah, none of that's working for me. Not sure if it's being stupid or if I'm just incompetant.
Take a look.
