Didn't someone say something about having a program that updates other users' hosted maps? If I can get my hands on something like that... heheheh those strip map perves will be in for a BIG surprize >:)

You can only alter the people who are downloading, and the map they are downloading. You cannot alter the host's map.

When you sign out, all your squelch data is cleared. So basically, when you sign back in, you have to squelch all those people again. Worse, if they aren't online, you can't squelch them until they sign on, which you'll find out by seeing them message with /f m.

It's like if Battle.net sent a message "Your chat feature is temporarily disabled" and you had to type "/chat on" to be able to talk. Every time you sign on, it shows the message a few times, so you have to type it a few times. When you're online for a while, it might occasionally display the message again, so you have to turn it back on. If this was the case, you'd complain, right? And bringing it up to Blizzard and receiving the response "Well, just type '/chat on' and the problem's solved" isn't exactly what you'd call a solution.

Having a mute list featured similarly to a friend's list would be the best patch Blizzard has released for SC since they colored player names.

Nononononooo. Mapinjection works like this - you select a map to be locked for injection, you join a game, and then Starcraft will believe you are the host - and people who join after you joined the game will start downloading the map you locked in. There is no current public way of protection against this, and you cannot kick the injector - because he cannot be seen in the lobby. Unfortunately you cannot force the host to join his own game... I usually tell them the version is outdated, crash them, and rehost the game under the same name with the new version, but they don't always realize that. -.-

That's actually a really dickish thing to do. If you want to distribute the new version just host another game but forcing it on another guy's game is just rude. And crashing them just reinforces their position that you're a jerk and they should ban you if they see you again.

Anyways. I hate:

-Helms Deep every hour of every day in UMS.
-Joining a map and the host banning people because they're 'waiting for a friend'. Which never comes, and they refuse to go and keep banning people until everyone leaves because their friend probably slipped on his way to make a sandwich and is unconscious on the kitchen floor or something.
-Rise of true fucking rome.
-Clan Rome.
-People who expect me to give them an advantage in a diplomacy map. Screw that, you're my enemy, you're going to die.
-Asses that say a map is too complicated for them, say they don't get it, don't ask for help and leave after 3 minutes.
-People that join as a required player and leave at the beginning.
-That most HOI3 games collapse after 7 minutes because goddamn GB left.

SDE, BWAPI owner, hacker.

@Zhuinden: Map injection could probably be easily countered by the wide variety of options available with the map transfer. You could just verify the checksum with the correct host.

Lovely. Anyways, no one has ever done that, because I'm pretty much one of the only people who use up their enormous amount of time for something as pointless as making someone download a new version of a map...
By the way. Yes. It is a completely dickish thing to do. But so is not updating to the newest version out of mere laziness. It doesn't take more than 2 or 3 minutes to do. Playing a Desert Strike game takes ~30 minutes. I don't see why it's so impossible to do without my "help". I'm not hosting it merely because my new wireless internet connection does not allow me to do so.

But really. Another bnet pet peeve: people who are not willing to download a map to update from a website because "it takes too much time".

1. SpamBots
2. People that join games to ruin them in some sort of way, either by spamming, leaving, or drophacking everyone at the same time.
3. LKSJDGVDSGVGH -- games you have no idea what the f**k they're saying with hosts who have no idea what the f**k YOU'RE saying. :O
4. Mentioned before -- Frost@USEast > YOU. stay away from him!!
5. People who think they're cool over battle.net
6. YO. SUP DUDE. DUDE. SUP. WADDUP DUDE. YO LES GO GAME DUDE. YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :disgust:
7. Spoofers. Who wants a fruity colored name in a game that doesn't even show up in the game itself lol?
8. I play west, so this is is a huge pet peeve; TEMPLE SIEGE, TEMPLE SIEGE, SNIPES DM, SNIPES, SNIPES, SNIPES, HASLFJASKJF, FSDKFHSDLKFJSDF, DSFKHSDKLFJSD. :/
9. People who come to the U.S. servers that have no idea why the hell they're there, but stay anyway.
10. All melee games being 90% korean hosted.
11. People who have terrible grammar, and abbreviate EVERYTHING. "ig2g, ttyl my bff... LOL TATS AWSUM"
12. The amount of help that Battle.net tech gives you. "Go here and type 124545." ^^
13. Having to do the lat trick every damn time I want to show somebody something.
14. People who join a clan and disease all activity. What-so-ever.
15. Someone who takes a map, edits it slightly, puts their name in, and gives it to 50 friends who do the same. Yes!!!! We have 200 Marine defences now! F**k yes, my FAVORITE MAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
16. Spoofers that join, leave, and come back with your exact name, and completely make you look like an ass even though it's not you D:

I'm sure I can think of more, but not right now. Basically everything everyone said before + this xD

It's not a "dickish" thing to not have the latest version of the map. Forcing an update on others is what is called "dickish". Maybe they don't know where to get the map. It's possible that they just downloaded the version from someone else, and they have never heard of SEN. And, dropping people is even more dickish. Like I had said earlier, I don't like hackers. I bet not many other people do either.

Yes. Of course. And no one sees the game I host while I'm around the computer named http://staredit.net/files/2203/ , saying creator Lanthanide, mapname Desert Strike Night Fix 1.92 using Gremlin either, and the game I also tend to host using the gamecreator hack to increase the amount of characters added. Completely not noticeable at all. Everyone who is not willing to update without an appropriate reason deserves to be dropped. There was a guy once - he said the best version is 1.86 because everything is nerfed in the latter versions. I have no problem with that - he had his reason. Those who host 1.77 because they are too dumb, well those are another deal.

Btw, probably going to release 2.00 in the next couple of days. Mainly nerfing Mind Control (got a clever trick in mind) as it's too OP if you get lots of DAs, in particular for Terran.

Are you serious?

Most people play strip maps for the lulz and the gameplay more than the actual... minimap content. I mean really. Some of them are actually extremely challenging and require substantial teamwork. I made a bunch of strip muta micro/vulture micro/etc. maps when Farty first released Mapsketch. They were fun, but most people just played it for the micro. Half of them didn't even realize or care that the game was a strip map.

Anyways, list of things I hate:
-Temple Siege.
-Diplo.
-AFKFAGS/LATSPOOFAGS/DLFAGS/OBLIVIFAGS/IRBETTAHTHANUFAGS
-People who can't micro.
-Temple Siege.
-TEMPLE SIEGE.
-TEMPLE FUCKING SIEGE. EVERYWHERE.

Suggest phrasebanning "Temple Siege" in op SEN.

What's wrong with TS? Have you actually played it, enough to be a decent player? There's a reason for it being one of the most played maps: it's a great map.

Oh boy, do I have a list:
1) People who don't know the difference between cheat, rig, hack, and glitch.
2) People who don't know the difference between noob and nub. Noob = new player. Nub = bad player, often new.
3) Hosts that have a full house and wait for an extra 30 seconds before the start.
4) People who get pissy when I exploit glitches in old versions of a map when a newer version has a fix to it, yet they refuse to play the new map.
5) People who don't understand the point to "NO NOOB" games. It's because some of us get tired of rm'ing 10 times to play 1 decent game before we go to bed.
6) People (usually koreans) that join games, don't ask for help, don't talk, can figure out how to play, then quit after a while/fuck everyone else over because he has no idea what he is doing.
7) Hackers that get all pissy when you announce that they hack.
8) The host of a defense game closes 1 slot so he gets extra kills, then loses the game.
9) Nubs that call you noob when you totally rape, but have 2 totally clueless teammates.
10) When a hacker uses the stay alive hack, then releases a spammer, flooding your screen. /squelch does not work on this.
11) People that make up shit about SC (ie: unit attack rates, sc kinks, etc.)
12) Morons that say you have no life because you are good at a game.
13) People that say "It's just a game." Games are made for people to WIN. That's why we have victory and defeat triggers.

1) ZhuZhu for spreading hacks.
2) Dew/Promasser for stealing countless hacks. Similar to that asshole who steals a ton of maps and claims it under his name.
3) Program/map stealers.
4) Vanished for making/spreading shitty maps.

The map is decent but there are way too many exploits/glitches that imbalance games (civilian walling preventing enemies from upgrading, glitches with unit detection that make spells not work, etc.)

Also, it's the ONLY THING people in op SEN talk about. "Temple siege this" and "temple siege that". Every other line in op SEN convos is people going "HAI TEMPLE SEIGE LIEK NAO" "U HOST I TOO NOOB TO HAZ FORWARDED PORTS" "LOL KAY" and then half of the channel disappears when that happens.

Want the genre? Play LoL or HoN or DotA. Not Temple Siege.

Civilian walling? There's one system in place that kills all the civilians if too many build up, plus you'd be at a severe disadvantage if you used precious levels to wall.

I haven't encountered any glitches that prevent spells being cast.

TS isn't the only thing being talked about in Op SEN. Sure, it's talked about a bit but then they go and play another game. You can always hang at op 5en or donuts if you don't want to hear about TS.
