I cant tell the difference between my dream and reality.
I go to school and complete a boring day. I got to sleep and dream about school. I wake up thinking my dream happened and i skip a day when i write the dates on my crap. get late points taken off and realize i was dreaming. Another annoying thing is that i think i did something and realise at the last moment that i didnt do it and freaking work on it at the last moment. I cant have lucid dreams no matter how hard i try and when i do try i end up dieing in my dream. Almost like 3rd person GTA. One time i had an arguement with my friend in my sleep and tried to controll it. we went to the top of the roof(4 stories high) and he pushed me off the building. i had little more than a second to think of something and i crashed through the concrete and into the sewer. A sudden current sweeps me and i seem to be drifting there. i am able to breathe and swim untill i see a grate the current tries to push me through the grate but i can not go through. a rock from the wreckage follows the same path as me and squeeses me like an orange through the sqeezer and my blood colors the water red. Almost like a camera, i look upon myslef and see a smidge of brain floating.

Ok so pretty much:

1. I have controlled my dreams and have forcefully woken myself up before
2. The picture you have shown looks (if you look at as a 3 dimensional image and spin it in your heads for all you graphical thinkers ;) ) like a whole bunch of fours
3. You will more often remember dreams if you are interrupted in your sleep rather than getting uninterrupted sleep (IE: Waking up at 2 o'clock in the morning)
4. Sometimes when I'm falling asleep, if I let myself drift, and suddenly become alert I will hear senseless babbling voices for a few words.
5.

Taking a look at this topic, I find this AMAZINGLY interesting. I haven't been able to sort everything out yet, but I'll definitely be trying soon. I recommend this for anyone interested in dreams ;).

I also have an ability with my dreams. Although I cannot control them 100%, sometimes I can alter certain things and I do have the ability to wake up on command. I usually do so and end up waking around 3:00 to 7:50 AM. Although I do want to share a dream of my own that I had last night that I can't seem to make sense of. This is by far the strangest dream I've ever had:

In the beginning it was dark, and all I could really hear was mumbling. Then I found myself standing chest-deep in water at the ocean, and something was moving towards me above the water. It was like a head, which its neck went down into the water and it's body wasn't visible. There were two hand/claw things risen above the water next to it. It's face was strange, I can't really recall it correctly. It approached me and the scene suddenly changed to an underwater view. I was looking up trying to swim away from something to the surface. As I made my way up, tentacles, like an octopus maybe, but hundreds of them began to swarm into my vision. I could feel myself being pulled down. The strangest part is that I was holding my breath in my sleep, as if I were actually drowning. Then it changed one last time, I found myself laying on a lawn chair back at my old public pool where I used to live. I got up and walked out of the area, a few feet from the pool area. I saw something in the sky flying towards me. It was like a bird, but really oversized. It landed, I think it looked like an owl maybe. Or a bat, it told me it was going to be banished for doing something and needed my help. Then it handed me a piece of paper. But when I went to read it, I woke up on the first word before I could process it and know what it was.

This is probably the strangest, and only dream I can recall vividly after waking up. It was the only thing I could think about today. Although I didn't see a strange mark or anything, it was very strange.

The only thing I can recall doing before I went to sleep was watching the movie The Fourth Kind. Although I believe that movie had little influence on the things I saw in my dream. The only thing about this dream besides everything else, is that even though I was commanding myself to wake up, I never did until I saw that paper. And when I did wake up, I felt like I was out of breath.

What I've said probably sounds like bull, but it's true.

Also, not that it would add at all, could it have anything to do with the fact that today was my birthday?

Apparently, it's impossible to read in dreams. Letters shift and jumble around. So perhaps, Malvanis, your dream had the computer equivalent of a crash as your subconscious realized, "Oh shit, dude, he's not gonna be able to read this."

Relatively ancient and inactive

That seems like an odd way for the world to work. You can interpret regular objects but not letters in dreams? Maybe it's harder or rarer because they're smaller and there's more of them, but probably possible.

Anyway, I've had few nightmares. I remember one where my family was stuck in some Saw-like chains-gears-trap and I sacrificed myself to get them out (thankfully not in too much detail) and then flew around as a spirit for a bit seeing what happened to them afterwards (they successfully escaped). I remember one from much earlier when my dad was a cyclops in a jacuzzi (ten years ago? It stuck) and another from the same period when I was in a hallway looking through the keyhole at my parents at the table and they turned and became monsters (at which point I woke up). I know I had dreams recently, but the most recent one I actually remember is from several years ago, and the only thing I remember about it was that there were several awesome dreams in one, and the one I remember I only remember because it had lots of nice autumn leaves. I don't think I ever successfully did anything in a lucid dream.

ITT: Dreams

I had a dream the other day I wanted to be badass during a zombie invasion of my town so i ran to where they came. I KNEW where they were coming from because i had the dream twice "in one sitting". I didn't wake up when the dream ended it just repeated itself lols. In the first dream of the zombie invasion i was in the back and just as the dream was ending I was told from one of the people who were running that their were zombies, i was like some special forces guy who made it out. In the second run I had a revolver and since for some reason I knew what happened or i was suicidal (because I knew it was a dream?) I ran to the front lines and just as the zombies were 10 feet away i put the revolver to my head but just as I was going to pull the trigger the bullets POPed out and turned into dust. I was like O SHIZZ and I ran. sadly these were like the super modern zombies with the fast speed and I was surrounded. The only place left for me to go was a back yard. I ran into it and stiff armed about 4 zombies to get into one of those basements you can get into form the outside. From their everything went Penumbra and I threw everything at the door I came in from to barricade it. Their was a giant freezer (the kind that opens from the top) that wasn't plugged in and I jumped inside until i woke up.

:ego:

Sall right I guess.

she/her

Occasionally, I get dreams in which I have the "power" of "second chance," by which I mean that the moment at which the "story" is supposed to end, I can choose to "restart" at a prior point.

What's scary about these dreams is how the dream NEVER gets better, no matter how many times I "restart." Scary, in the sense that it reveals to me the futility of repeating things in order to correct them.
What's even scarier is the fashion in which the dreams "decay." Each time I restart, I became more and more aware of the dream-state I'm in, and the characters within the dream become "conscious" of the restarts, and eventually, the dream will have deteriorated to the point that it is impossible to "restart" meaningfully, since the "characters" will merely adapt to bring about a worse and worse dream.

Also, I frequently have dreams about being a vampire or being a part of epic adventures.

Why, this one time, I was helping a skeleton-apprentice serve his overlord, a massive, giant, octopus thing that lived in magma. :/
The octopus-C'thulu thing died, but saved us from something terrible. We ended up swimming through the magma and escaping. Something. Terrible.

Yaaaa.

Actually, a few nights ago, I read in a dream. I vividly remember the text printed on a normal piece of white printer paper in 12-point Times New Roman font (the default in Microsoft Word), along with the rest of the menu un-aesthetically listed out on the paper. One of the words was "Cheeseburger."

Has anyone ever had a dream in which they saw inanimate objects and near-mystical visual phenomena and felt disturbed and violated for no reason? I had a dream like that when I was younger, and it still creeps me out today. I wasn't even in the dream per se; I was viewing various images/places in the third person. Here's all I can remember from the dream:

What I remember from the dream is seeing a sidewalk (nothing existed except for the road and the sidewalk), with either a razed building or a twisted version of a human heart (wtf, inorite?). After that, I saw a small wooden chair with three colored rings (as in small hoops, not the rings you wear) on top of it. They were red, green, and blue, if I recall. Then I saw a loading screen (wtf) with a small castle next to the loading bar. Next, I saw a bunch of gears working together and grinding with dust falling in the air. From my viewpoint, I could see light coming between the gears, which illuminated the dust, creating streaks of light. Finally, I found myself looking at this odd pattern of colors. There was a circular white or yellow object (or just bright, it's hard to tell/remember) object in the center with light radiating from it. There was also a pseudo-vortex behind this object ( it was made of thick white lines that came from the center that were twirled slightly outward. In addition to that, it seemed like there were layers, each of which containing another abstract pattern.

Anyhow, I felt as if I was in pain (mental anguish) and I was uncomfortable for the whole dream. The dream was unexplained, and it still creeps me out. Anyone have any suggestions for interpretation?

How come most of you feel things while you are dreaming, while all my senses during dreams are hearing, seeing and that is pretty much it. I don't have -feelings - in my dreams. No pain, no happiness nothing at all! It mildly bothers me. I feel left out. Also, can you guys read in your dreams?

By the way, loading bars are funny in dreams. There was a time I was dreaming that I was playing SC. That was the ultimate bottom of everything. But a few years ago when I was playing Final Fantasy with ZSNES, I could have state-saves in my dreams, and the text State loaded from Slot 2. appeared whenever I did that. It was hilarious.

Once I dreamed that I was laying in bed but couldn't move. I couldn't move my limbs, I couldn't breathe. Then I felt fear and I woke up. Also, sometimes I dream of playing games, and I somewhat have fun. So yes, I do feel some things besides basic senses in dreams.
