Thanks Oh_Man! I didn't even notice the ultralisk's tusks were like that. I'll change it later on.

And thanks for the assets B_O! I'll check them out.

edit: a jungle doodad ported to ashworld!

edit 2: another one

edit 4: now in twilight

Responsible for my own happiness? I can't even be responsible for my own breakfast

Hatchery is my favorite one yet - that looks fantastic.

sneezing and sniffling, you were still a fox

Thanks Voy!

Updated the hatchery. New on the right, old on the left.

Updated the pylon as well. Heiner mentioned it should be dimmer.

New forge:

New nexus:

Reddit user Into_The_Rain thought these two in particular could use some touching up, so I took their feedback into account. Looking better, I'd say.

Not sure what I'm doing next. Still plenty of things on my list.

edit: better lighting

edit 69: added rubble behind the forge and warped the ultralisk tusks

edit 42: made cybercore less transparent-looking

edit 511: shield battery!

Cybernetics core and gateway have had rubble added to them.

Is this version of the hatchery better? Old -> new, as usual.

edit: probe #1

edit: probe #2

I like both hatcheries, they are just different. Keep them both. Also I like how cyber core and gateway are evolving. But shield battery looks very transparent. Maybe do more destruction for shield battery? more like for a probe?

Jun 1 2017, 1:29 pm Pr0nogo Post #27

Ah, I think it looked transparent because of the universal lighting. How's this?

Jun 3 2017, 5:37 pm Pr0nogo Post #28

I may make a third probe variant, but I will probably be focusing on some military units for the time being. I'd like to even make some zerg corpses to replace some of the bone doodads, make the battles look fresh. We'll see how it goes. There's some hard limit on how many doodads I can have so I have to be somewhat judicious.

edit: a nicer compilation, including firebats

edit2: a siege tank

stunning work.. awesome dude!

Thank you!

Some updates to the protoss doodads. I think they look a lot better now.

Pylon 2:

I'm leaving the OP's showcase outdated as of right now while I slowly arrange all existing images into collections like the ones above. When the sets that I'm working on right now (e.g. pylons) are completed, I'll throw them on there somewhere. If there aren't variations they will probably remain as they are and I'll just keep the previews to dirt instead of showing the other terrain types.

Also added a masterlist of my current priorities to help me keep track of how many doodads I still need to make.

Jun 6 2017, 1:34 am Pr0nogo Post #33

Today's doodads:

After accounting for some feedback over discord, the only surviving criticism of the doodads pictured is that the second overlord doesn't appear 'crashed' enough. If I feel the same way after some in-game testing I'll do what I can to address the issue. If anyone else has any ideas, please make them heard!

edit: slight fix to the citadel of adun for a readability problem

Find Me On Discord (Brood War UMS Community & Staredit Network)

These are so good I wish they could be officially in the game somehow as actual doodads. They don't feel fanmade or out of place at all.

Thanks everyone!

Rounding out some of the carnage with some destroyed zerg defenses/utility. Up next will probably be some of the tier 1 zerg structures (evo chamber, spawning pool, hydra den) and a spire. After that and a second missile turret variation, I'll focus mostly on converting these to high dirt and hoping tileedit doesn't corrupt my files again.

Later on in the week I'll be starting on the trailer for the campaign, so if all goes well the first half of it will be launching in 5-6 days.

Final update

The project will be launching in a few days. Thanks to everyone who contributed and helped me along the way!

Anything new? Downloadable yet?

Jun 20 2017, 7:24 am Pr0nogo Post #40

Once the campaign is complete, I'll release the assets. By the end of this month, most likely.

Ultraviolet -- I believe if you're playing a version of SCBW that is compatible with, it will apply to you either way, but I'm not certain of that.
[11:05 pm]
ProtoTank -- unless it doesn't matter
[11:05 pm]
ProtoTank -- I actually don't have SCR installed
[10:52 pm]
Ultraviolet -- Sure thing. Another tidbit, if you're interested in using EUD Editor 2, you need to download a copy of SCBW version 1.16.1 and link EUD Editor 2 up to the StarDat.mpq BrooDat.mpq and patch_rt.mpq from that copy since Blizzard recently decided to get rid of those mpqs from the current version of SC:R
[10:04 pm]
ProtoTank -- I'm sure that's old news, but thanks for sharing
[05:53 pm]
Ultraviolet -- It's definitely not quite as expansive in possibility as modding, but it kind of feels like a hybrid of modding and mapping while retaining the ability to play on
[05:52 pm]
Ultraviolet -- EUD Editor 2 is what I like to use
[05:51 pm]
Ultraviolet -- A while back Blizzard made an EUD emulator that allows many EUD actions to be used as well as conditions while avoiding the inherent risks of allowing users to modify memory
[05:24 pm]
ProtoTank -- I didn't think you could have EUD actions, I thought only EUD conditions were enabled
[03:23 pm]
Dem0n -- ya EUDs
