I went to explore nature last week. I began by hiking by myself through a forest and enjoying the scenery. I saw a few animals, even a few wolves, but they didn't bother me. I kept walking and eventually came upon a cave. It was getting dark outside so I decided to go in and use the cave as a temporary shelter. Several of my friends had explored caves before, but they had been to tourist caves where guides gave you a flashlight and showed you the caverns. I thought it was safe enough (better than being outside, at least), and besides, I knew how to make my own torches.

I stayed at the mouth of the cave for awhile, but I was curious about was lay underground. Soon, against my better judgement, I began walking into the darkness. As I descended into the caverns, I began to hear hear strange, scary sounds. I continued my exploration despite the possibility of hostile creatures. I knew that I would be rewarded for my courage, and I was. After just a few minutes of walking, I discovered a beautiful underground lake. But that was not the end of the cave system. I continued, even as the strange sounds became louder and more frequent. I passed veins of iron ore, and even saw a pool of lava. I knew the trip was dangerous, but I didn't turn around until I saw the skeleton. That's when I ran. I wasn't prepared for stuff like that. I sprinted back the way I came, passing these huge spiders and making it back to the overworld by daybreak. I was lucky to be alive.

Win by luck, lose by skill.

I tried to sleep, but couldn't. I laid awake in my bed, tossing and turning endlessly, wondering what exactly was in that cave and why it was so mystical. Surely nobody had ever traveled through a cave such as this. As much as I tried to block the frightening visions from my head, I couldn't forget them. I didn't sleep a single second that night. I couldn't eat breakfast; I felt sick, almost. I decided to conquer my fears and just explore the cave. However, I was not going to do this alone. I went to a hunting store nearby and found a few guys who had nothing better to do than to walk around the woods and shoot things. They could help me. I brought three with me, all equipped with pistols. Never having shot a gun in my life, I decided it was better if I just carried the other essentials; flares, flashlights, water, etc...

I hadn't anticipated the journey to the cave quite as well as I should have. It was a three hour walk from the hunting store, and the sun was just beginning to set. "There's no going back now," I told myself as I led the other men to the dark entrance. Once they saw it, they had seconds thoughts, but I convinced them that there wasn't anything to worry about as long as we stayed together. Staying together. That was the key. If only we had known that then. We ventured into the dark cave, walking almost silently. The only thing that could be heard was the nearby dripping of water through a crack in a rock. A small puddle was forming on the ground, but when I pointed my flashlight towards it, I was shocked. This wasn't water, or at least, it didn't look like it. It was incredibly dark and murky, almost too thick to even be considered water. I concluded that there must have been a muddy area above the cave where the water was seeping through. Why was I so ignorant?

Onward we went. An hour passed by. The strange noises that I had heard the day before were nowhere to be found. The three hunters were beginning to question my sanity, wondering if I had just made the whole thing up to get a rise out of them, but I convinced them to keep going. I tried to get back on the path that led me to the lake and lava, but I couldn't see it at all. There were no more trails; the dirt on the ground was completely even, clean of any footsteps from the day before. I should've gone back then. Why didn't I go back?

wth is starcraft

The phone beside me rang, startling everyone into action. No one remembered how the phone got there, but it was there now. Beside me. My hands trembled. I wasn't sure what to think anymore...what was a phone doing all the way out here? As much as it shames me to admit it, I had delayed on my phone payment for too long, and my cell service dropped me months ago. I picked up the ringing phone beside me and looked at it.

It was a nice smart phone, in near perfect condition. It was a few years behind the times, sure, but it would work well enough. It had a strange gray emblem on the back, and it looked like someone tried - and failed - to scrape it off. The ringing stopped. "2 MISSED CALLS - ONE VOICEMAIL" the screen stated. The others looked at me, not sure what I was going to do, I suppose, not sure where the phone had come from. I picked up the phone, and dialed the voicemail extension. "Hey, it's your mother," the voicemail began, "I just want you to know that even though Tim's birthday is on the fifth of June, he and cheryl want to leave on the forth so we have to have it tonight. We'll be eating at seven, you better be there for Tim. I know you two haven't gotten along but can you please put it past you?" The voicemail ended. This phone had been abandoned for at least the past three weeks.

Where was the owner?
