I used ScmDraft 2 to make a map for Starcraft: Broodwar. As soon as the map starts up, everyone but player 1 instantly loses and it ends in a draw. It has nothing to do with any defeat or victory triggers. I tried multiple scenarios where my opponents are human and computer, and are in the same force or two separate forces. I have also tried deleting everything for players 9 and 12, but that didn't help either. Does anyone have any advice? I'm guessing that ScmDraft 2 somehow bugged the map or there is some other wild explanation. There is no section on this site for SC1, however I'm hoping some people on these forums are with making maps in Brood War.

There is a BW section. If you go to the forum index, you'll see a Wraith in the top left corner. Click on that and it'll reveal all the SC1 forums. Just another fault of this site.

You should post the map. If you're saying that triggers have nothing to do with this and that you messed around with the forces, then we'll actually have to see the map in order to see what's wrong.

It has everything to do with defeat or victory triggers if you're running the game under Use Map Settings; there is no other way to make a player lose or win in UMS maps. Are you accidentally hosting this as a melee map?

I found out what was wrong. There was a victory trigger in an area it has no business being in! All 7 other players lost when I first tried to host the map, so I assumed it was a defeat trigger going off for them. I've spent the past many hours making this map and I must have a brain fart, and did not think to check for victory triggers until I was about to upload my map, and decided to double check every possible scenario, so I wouldn't be wasting everyone's time. I removed a trigger which was "Always set victory for player 1". I hosted a game with a computer opponent and everything went well. I'm going to now test it again online with real people. If something is still wrong I will report back.

Thanks for your replies.

Unrelated to this post, I'd like to ask if there are lots of people on here still playing Brood War? And are there many custom map makers on here as well? I was surprised to get quick replies from two people regarding my post. I did not know there was an active community out here on the web, until I googled forums to seek guidance for my problem.

sounds like moisture control is often a pressing concern in your city

Vrael -- Maybe here on the StarEdit Network I could look through the Forums for some Introductions to people who care about the Topics of Dehumidifiers and Carpet Cleaning?
