PACKERS WIN 31-25

K, Which one of you landlubbers is watching it on TV, who's going to it, and who do you think is gonna win it?

Since I live a 40 minute drive from Cowboy Stadium, I'm watching it from the outside. Also go Packers ^^

Why would you watch the Super Bowl when you could be playing StarCraft?

Win by luck, lose by skill.

Back* from the grave

I think I will win. The advertisements are more entertaining than overinflated egos anyways.

wth is starcraft

I'm not interested in ball tossing sports. It sounds like a good excuse to get drunk.

But in all seriousness the last sports I professed interest in watching were Rugby or Hockey. There just isn't enough blood in Football :P

Yes, rugby is a true man's sport. You need to be a lot fitter than a football player - some of these linemen wouldn't last five minutes in a game of rugby.

True story - was talking to a patron at the place where I work last week, and conversing about his old career as a rugby player. He says he tried out American Football after rugby for a while but got bored because the guys playing it were wimps. Apparently they complained that he was "tackling them too hard" - all that padding probably contributes to injuries more than it protects from them. Don't get me wrong - I like American Football (especially when they show it here because it has no commercials) but I prefer other sports.

Watch High School games... I have more scars from HS Football than I do from anything else. Only thing that beats HS Football for injuries/blood is wrestling. But, injuries are less fun in wrestling, especially when you lose by fucking 2 points when you can't use your dominant arm at all because it got separated half a minute into the match by a lousy kid that you could easily beat any other day and continue wrestling to fuck up your senior season because you're too bullheaded to listen and stop wrestling and let the fucker heal.

Pent-up rage is srs bsns.

First place in the first tournament, started season 8-2 before that match...ended up winning the occasional match, but for the most part I lost the rest by...you guessed it, a fucking point or two.

I can't stand the Steelers. I didn't like either team that played in the AFC Championship game (Jets and Steelers).

As soon as the Saints, then Colts, and then Patriots went out, I've turned to the Packers. And I believe the Packers will win.

Ok.

Get your country's the world's best rugby player and have him and Ndamukong Suh charge into each other as hard and fast as they can. Neither of them will wear any protective gear, let's see who'll end up with a concussion and broken bones.

Or fine, let's even give the rugby player the helmet and all that padding. Wonder if he'll even be standing on his foot against Brian Urlacher.

Let's see who can bench more. Wonder if a rugby player can max 400+ lbs once.

Or be able to knock 300+ lb offensive linemen off their feet.

Also, let's see if your typical rugby player can run a 100m dash in under 4.2 seconds on a consistent basis.

You seriously underestimate how fit, strong, and athletic you need to be in order to play ANY position in football. Especially in recent years where the game is now harder hitting and dangerous than ever. More importantly you also have to realize how different the athletic skills are for each positon. Of course a rugby player can outlast say an Offensive Guard or Tackle when it comes to running around but what about a running back? wide receiver? Or a cornerback? These guys have arguable the most amount of stamina of all players. The point is you can't just generalize about football player's athletic abilities the way you could for rugby or soccer players.

If you actually played the game of football, you'll realize how hard it is and how athletically gifted you have to be for any position. Not saying rugby isn't any less of a sport, but if we're talking about "manly" sports, then you need to shut the fuck up before you even know what the game of football is even like, particularly for the actual professionals who risk their lives and health every day/week.

I can't stand it when people think football is a wimp's sport while knowing absolutely nothing about its mechanics or environment. Also:

No offense to that guy, but that doesn't mean anything. That rugby player was probably more athletically fit in general than the other guys he played American Football against. You have to be stupid if you think padding contributes more to injuries than protection. Without protection, we'd have dead players on the field everyday. And without protection, people wouldn't be hitting each other anywhere near as hard, just like in rugby. Just imagine taking these hits without all those helmets and protection.

There's a reason why the regular season of football is only 16 games whereas rugby is like 20-30 games.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless
[05:02 am]
Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value
[05:01 am]
Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort
[12:51 am]
Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
