idk if this is in the right discussion but w/e cause I've been on this TM2 for like an hour now.. I can't seem to get TinyMap2 to work. I open TM2 and open my map. I click save and rename the file. But after that it does nothing for me. The map shows up in the folders but not through open file through schm draft and then it doesn't even show the file in the map directory when im picking the map i want to play through starcraft itself. then it's in the open file state as in "Open With (Program)" it doesn't even have a file type assigned to it like scm. or scx.. HMM?? I just want to Protect my map is all. but i can't..

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

If you just want to protect your map, you could use a map protector like the following instead:

For TinyMap2, you need to save the file as a .scx or .scm file to see it in SC. For example, save it as "MyProtectedMap.scx" and not just "MyProtectedMap." (TinyMap2 doesn't put the extension on the file automatically.)

Special Protector is probably giving a false positive; I've used it before TinyMap2 existed and never had any issues.

I assume you're using Kaspersky? Someone else said that as well, but I've tested it with other AV programs and have yet to find a virus.

So will this protect my map though?

Yes. Both programs offer protection, but TinyMap2 is better because it does compression as well.

The protection afforded by Tinymap is easily defeated. I assume the same with special protector as well.

Yes, and this is true with almost all protectors; if you can hunt down some cutting-edge program in a foreign language, that might stand up to some well known unprotectors. Otherwise, go with compression.

To prevent this from diverging into a "What is the best protector" discussion, I'd like to kindly remind everyone that we have a thread for that (which ironically diverged into a TinyMap2 bug thread): http://www.staredit.net/topic/12648/. In short, anything that can be read by SC can be unprotected, so go for compression.
